The Opportunity: Senior Product Manager – Simulation (Fusion)
Join Autodesk to lead the product strategy for integrated design and simulation experiences within Fusion. You will define and deliver solutions that expand the accessibility of simulation for the product design community, focusing on user experience, physics, adoption, automation, and AI. Your work will transform simulation from a specialized activity into an intuitive capability embedded directly into the design process, enabling early and continuous validation of design decisions.
What You'll Do:
- Define the product strategy and roadmap for integrated design and simulation experiences.
- Champion solutions that connect design, engineering, and manufacturing workflows.
- Drive the adoption of simulation as a core design tool for mainstream users.
- Leverage automation and AI to simplify complex analysis and guide better decisions.
- Ensure responsible AI principles (transparency, explainability, user trust) are embedded in product experiences.
- Partner with engineering, UX, and domain experts to deliver impactful solutions.
- Utilize customer insights and product data to identify unmet needs and prioritize investments.
Principal Duties & Responsibilities:
- Take full responsibility for the "whole" product/solution experience.
- Become a subject matter expert for simulation offerings and AI-assisted design in Fusion.
- Clearly articulate user problems and solution objectives to guide development teams.
- Identify and describe target customers, personas, and ecosystem influencers.
- Develop solution concepts combining UX, physics, and AI-driven automation.
- Coordinate efforts with adjacent product managers.
- Develop and articulate project intent, scope, timelines, and deliverables.
- Create solution examples and workflow vignettes.
- Develop core messaging for solution benefits.
- Evangelize solutions internally and externally.
- Plan and initiate market research and sizing to identify opportunities.
- Conduct end-user interviews to uncover customer needs and workflows.
- Develop long-term strategy, plans, and prioritization for customer capabilities and satisfaction.
- Track and understand business performance across regions and market conditions.
Key Requirements for Candidates:
- Experience in product management, preferably in design, engineering, or manufacturing software.
- BS in Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Computer Science.
- Strong understanding of product development workflows (consumer products preferred).
- Strong understanding of AI product principles (human-in-the-loop, model evaluation, trust, explainability, UX).
- Familiarity with simulation/CAE in the design and validation process.
- Proven ability to define strategy, prioritize roadmaps, and deliver results.
- Experience bringing simulation or analysis tools to broader, non-expert audiences.
- Background in mechanical engineering, industrial design, or related field.
- Familiarity with data analytics, data synthesis, and hypothesis testing.
- Experience with cloud, automation, or AI-driven product capabilities.
- Excellent communication, organizational, interpersonal, and diplomatic skills.
- Strong project management, planning, and research skills.
- Fluent in English (written and verbal).
- Ability to travel (up to 20%).
Desired Knowledge and Skills:
- Agile/SCRUM development process experience.
- 4+ years of Product Management experience in the software industry.
- Experience working with Generative AI, LLMs, or AI-assisted design tools.
- Familiarity with AI/ML pipelines, data workflows, or model lifecycle concepts.
- MBA or MS in Engineering preferred.
- Interest and enthusiasm for data-driven decision-making.
