The Opportunity

We are seeking a highly analytical and detail-oriented Fraud Operations Analyst Intern to join our dynamic Fraud Ops team for a 12-week period. This role offers the possibility of conversion to a full-time position based on performance and business needs.

What You Will Do

  • Monitor and analyze suspicious player activity to protect game integrity and user community, taking immediate action to mitigate fraud losses.
  • Review user wallet transactions (deposits and withdrawals) and play activity daily to ensure account and balance integrity.
  • Utilize various tools, systems, and reports to detect fraud trends, measure impact, and communicate findings to management.
  • Stay updated on fraud and user behavior trends, identifying new detection and prevention methods and sharing insights.
  • Support management and internal teams with ad hoc requests and fraud reviews.
  • Collaborate with other departments to optimize fraud processes, policies, and best practices.
  • Ensure compliance with anti-money laundering (KYC), gaming regulations, and terms of service.
  • Partner with Customer Support to develop protocols and training for resolving issues related to identity verification, document authentication, transactions, and suspicious behavior.
  • Work in cross-functional teams to design and manage scalable fraud prevention and risk mitigation systems.

What You Will Have

  • 1-3 years of relevant experience in Fraud, Risk Operations, or a related role.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent education and experience.
  • Knowledge of Daily Fantasy Sports, Gaming, and/or payment processes in the DFS/gaming industry.
  • Strong analytical skills, exceptional attention to detail, and a highly organized, self-starter approach with strong follow-through.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced startup environment and adapt to an evolving industry.
  • Investigative curiosity and strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to work a hybrid remote and in-office schedule, potentially including weekends.
  • Capacity to interpret data and behaviors.
  • A full understanding of Sleeper's mission and values.
