Job Summary
The Director, Category Management and Strategic Sourcing will focus on establishing Claritev as a trusted partner to internal clients. This role is pivotal in increasing spend under management, standardizing processes, and implementing strategic sourcing initiatives that deliver measurable business value and enhance client satisfaction. You will lead category managers and oversee spend across critical areas including IT (software/SaaS, hardware, telecom, staff augmentation), Professional Services (systems integration, consulting, audit, tax, marketing), Business Process Outsourcing (BPO), and Corporate Services (HR, contingent labor, facilities).
Key Responsibilities
- Develop strong internal client relationships to understand strategic priorities, roadmaps, and business requirements.
- Build a robust category management organization, focusing on team member development and establishing strategic sourcing playbooks and processes.
- Lead and manage enterprise-wide sourcing and vendor management strategies to drive value.
- Direct cross-functional sourcing teams and enterprise initiatives through strategy development, sourcing, contracting, and implementation.
- Optimize and consolidate the supply base across various procurement categories.
- Define and implement process improvements to enhance customer satisfaction, reduce cycle times, and improve efficiency while ensuring compliance and mitigating supplier risk.
- Develop new vendors to ensure capacity and sustainability for current and future needs.
- Facilitate and support ESG initiatives by identifying, engaging, and developing diverse vendors.
- Collaborate, coordinate, and communicate effectively across disciplines and departments.
- Ensure strict compliance with HIPAA regulations and requirements.

- Note: This role is considered High Risk due to exposure to PHI sensitive data.
Job Scope
This hands-on role involves deep collaboration with business stakeholders to define and holistically evaluate business requirements. You will leverage business scale, develop best-in-class systems and structures, drive growth and operational efficiency, and support business expansion through mergers and acquisitions. The Director reports directly to the VP, Procurement & Vendor Management and the position is primarily remote with flexible location.
Compensation
- Salary Range: $150,000 - $160,000 per year.
- Actual offers will be based on candidate's education, experience, skills, work location, and internal equity.
- Eligible for health insurance, 401k, and bonus opportunity.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree required; MBA or advanced degree is desirable.
- 10+ years of experience in Procurement.
- Strong knowledge of Indirect Procurement Categories: IT Services, Hardware, Software/SaaS, Professional Services, BPO, Corporate Services, HR Services.
- Proven experience with strategic sourcing methodologies, structured contract negotiations, and supplier performance management.
- Demonstrated experience leading cross-functional teams and rolling out enterprise initiatives.
- Strong influencing skills with stakeholders to persuade behavior change towards common goals.
- Excellent leadership and collaboration skills for building trusted relationships with leadership and peers.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present complex information to senior executives.
- Strategic thinking ability and capacity to develop future-state organizational strategies.
- Strong business acumen to understand challenges from business leaders' perspectives.
- Broad understanding of core procurement areas: spend management, category management, and supplier management.
- In-depth knowledge of IT/Technology procurement, sourcing strategies, and contract management.
- Experience in financial planning and budget management.
- Proven ability to proactively plan and lead multiple priorities effectively.
- Adept at identifying and driving change and continuous improvement opportunities.
- Comfortable with ambiguity and adaptable to changing business needs and priorities.
- Strong process and project management experience.
- Highly analytical and data-driven thinking.
- Excellent communication planning, visualization, and execution skills.
- Technical Skills: Microsoft Office Suite (PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Visio), P2P solutions (Ariba, Coupa, etc.), Tableau, Power BI.
- Must be able to work in a standard office environment, which includes sitting and viewing monitors for extended periods and operating standard office equipment.
