Staff MLOps Engineer

Company Description

Cint is a pioneer in research technology (ResTech), providing a platform for clients to gather insights from a global network of nearly 300 million respondents. Cint enables businesses to build strategies, publish research, and measure digital advertising impact by connecting them with real people worldwide.

The Role

Cint is hiring a Staff MLOps Engineer to own and develop the company's AI/ML platform. The immediate focus is on supporting the Synthetic Data Platform, which includes models for survey augmentation and respondent profiling. The role's remit will expand to cover other AI/ML initiatives such as the Trust Score (respondent quality and fraud detection model). You will assess the current setup, decide on necessary rebuilds or extensions, and then build out the shared AI/ML platform.

The Team

You will report into the Infrastructure and Data Engineering organization and work closely with the AI/ML team in Prague. This role is platform-centric with a feature focus, meaning your daily delivery will serve the Synthetic Data team's needs, but your architectural responsibilities will encompass all of Cint's AI/ML workloads.

What You'll Do

  • Assess and decide on the current pipeline: Audit the existing AI/ML training and serving setup, making decisions on what to build upon and what needs rebuilding, and owning the rationale.
  • Build the shared AI/ML platform: Develop training infrastructure, experiment tracking, model registry, serving, and monitoring capabilities for widespread use.
  • Oversee the full ML lifecycle: Facilitate frictionless, rapid model iteration for Data Scientists, from data ingestion and feature processing to annotation workflows.
  • Own training infrastructure on Databricks and Unity Catalog: Ensure training is fast, reproducible, and traceable, with a strong emphasis on lineage and reproducibility.
  • Model serving: Build the serving layer, including low-latency APIs, batch scoring jobs, and appropriate caching, integrating with Java/Spring services.
  • Monitoring and drift: Implement observability for models, covering data drift, model drift, accuracy regression, and business metrics, using tools like Grafana and Prometheus.
  • Cost and performance: Set patterns for cost-effective training and serving, managing ML compute costs and representing infrastructure spend and ROI to finance stakeholders.
  • Mentor and multiply: Act as a force multiplier by coaching AI/ML and Infrastructure engineers on best practices and setting engineering standards.
  • Drive AI tooling adoption: Explore and implement AI-native development practices for platform teams, including Claude Code and agentic workflows.

Qualifications

Technical Skills

  • Databricks / Spark Native: Comfortable working within Databricks; Unity Catalog experience is a strong plus.
  • Kubernetes & Cloud: Experience deploying ML workloads on Kubernetes; familiarity with AWS (EKS) is a plus.
  • Be a Polyglot: Proficiency in Python, Scala or Java (for Spark), Kubernetes manifests, and Terraform. Experience with AWS or GCP.

Who You Are

  • Deep ML Platform Expertise: Proven experience leading ML platform work at scale, with strong opinions on feature stores, model registries, serving patterns, and ML observability.
  • Mature Engineering: Extensive background in engineering excellence across multiple disciplines; capable of setting examples in approach and behavior as a senior IC.
  • Systems Architect: Ability to treat the platform as a product with real users (the ML team), designing APIs, writing documentation, and measuring adoption.
  • Technical Leader: Ability to lead through standards, RFCs, and credibility, with experience mentoring MLOps engineers.
  • Pragmatic about buy-vs-build: Skilled in deciding when to adopt managed services versus building custom solutions.
  • Commercially Literate: Ability to justify platform investment to leadership and translate business priorities into a roadmap.
