About the Role
Ironclad is building an elite Squad Team, a small, high-leverage engineering group focused on fast-moving, high-priority AI initiatives. Unlike traditional teams, the Squad Team operates across product and platform boundaries to incubate new AI capabilities, accelerate strategic bets, address critical delivery gaps, and bring innovative ideas from concept to production.
As a technical anchor for this effort, reporting to the VP Engineering of AI, you will work across multiple codebases and domains. You'll partner closely with product and engineering leaders to execute on some of the company's most important AI initiatives. This role is designed for high-agency builders who combine strong technical depth with product sense, urgency, and excellent judgment. Ironclad is hiring for a range of levels for this opportunity.
What You'll Do
- Lead the design and delivery of high-priority AI initiatives across Ironclad, from prototype to production launch.
- Rapidly learn new systems, codebases, and problem areas to drive execution with minimal guidance.
- Incubate new product ideas in areas such as contract AI, agentic workflows, intelligent extraction, search, and automation.
- Collaborate closely with product, design, legal domain experts, and go-to-market teams to translate customer needs into shipped products.
- Elevate the engineering bar through strong technical judgment, crisp execution, and pragmatic use of AI-assisted development tools.
- Identify and resolve organizational or technical bottlenecks by building, debugging, simplifying, or unblocking teams.
- Mentor other engineers through hands-on leadership, code reviews, technical direction, and example-setting.
- Help shape how Ironclad builds with modern AI systems, including best practices for evaluations, orchestration, prompting, retrieval, and production quality standards.

Compensation
- Base Salary Range: $180,000 - $220,000 USD
