Director of Solutions and Delivery at Disguise
About the Role
The Director of Solutions and Delivery will lead a newly created global function within the Customer Excellence Centre, integrating the former Solutions Design and Technical Services teams. This role is responsible for the entire customer journey, from pre-sales and solution design through to on-site delivery and post-project handover. You will manage a budget of $1M, oversee forecasting and resource planning, and lead a high-performing team of 20 FTEs across the Americas, EMEA, and APAC. This is a critical role for developing processes, standards, and tools to ensure efficient, scalable operations and profitable project delivery.
What You Will Do
Team Leadership & Organisational Development
- Build, lead, and develop the global merger of Solutions Design and Technical Services teams into a single, cohesive operating model.
- Line manage leaders across the Americas, EMEA, and APAC regions, ensuring team performance and development.
- Establish a team culture valuing technical excellence and commercial acumen, focused on client and business outcomes.
- Define and implement consistent global ways of working, quality standards, and best practices.
- Develop clear career pathways and invest in team member growth.
Pre-Sales & Solutions Strategy
- Partner with Sales and Business Development on client engagement, technology solution shaping, RFP responses, and high-value pitches.
- Ensure a client-centric, commercially informed approach to scoping and solution design.
- Enhance the team's commercial fluency regarding margins, pricing, upsell opportunities, and competitive positioning.
- Serve as a senior technical voice in client conversations, translating complex solutions for diverse audiences.
- Oversee the quality and consistency of global demo materials, pitch assets, and tender responses.
- Collaborate with external partners like Experience Design Consultants.
Solutions Design & Technical Scoping
- Lead the team in delivering high-standard system designs, equipment specifications, ROMs, SOWs, and project documentation.
- Ensure designs for complex environments (virtual production, LED stages, broadcast, immersive experiences, esports) are technically sound, commercially viable, and executable.
- Drive cross-regional consistency in solution design and documentation.
- Work closely with Product Management to represent customer needs and inform the product roadmap.
Delivery Oversight & Customer Excellence
- Maintain executive visibility across the project portfolio, from pre-production to post-handover.
- Ensure the delivery team has the necessary resources, tooling, and support for successful project execution.
- Act as the senior escalation point for complex technical issues globally.
- Champion a culture of exceeding client expectations.
- Partner with Project Management and Customer Success for profitable delivery and seamless transitions.
Research, Development & Thought Leadership
- Stay abreast of emerging technologies in real-time rendering, virtual production, LED, XR, broadcast, and live events.
- Contribute as a thought leader internally and externally through industry panels, content, and speaking engagements.
- Evaluate new tools, workflows, and vendor partnerships.
- Collaborate with Marketing on technical accuracy in product messaging and case studies.
Commercial & Cross-Functional Accountability
- Own budgeting and forecasting for the function in partnership with the SVP Customer Excellence.
- Manage resource allocation, capacity planning, and project financials with Project Management.
- Contribute to QBRs, business reviews, and strategic planning.
- Represent the team's capabilities and pipeline in cross-functional forums.
Essential Experience
- 10+ years in technical solutions, pre-sales, systems design, or delivery within entertainment technology, live events, broadcast, or immersive experiences.
- Proven track record of leading and developing global, high-performing technical teams (including managers) in fast-paced environments.
- Strong technical foundation in virtual production, LED stages, broadcast systems, real-time rendering, media servers, or immersive AV technologies.
- Demonstrated ability to operate across the full project lifecycle with fluency in both pre-sales and execution.
- Experience bridging creative and technical disciplines.
- Experience managing budgets, forecasting, and resource planning.
- Commercial acumen, including project scoping, margin assessment, and business development strategy.
Nice to Have
- Experience with Disguise or equivalent media server platforms.
- Familiarity with real-time rendering environments (Unreal Engine, Notch).
- Knowledge of signal transport standards (SMPTE ST2110, SDI, NDI) and networking protocols.
- Experience with system design and diagramming tools.
- Background in esports, sports entertainment, or large-scale immersive activations.
- Established network within live events, broadcast, or virtual production industries.
- Experience acting as a brand ambassador.

Compensation
- US-based salary range: $140K - $179K, varying by location, experience, and job alignment.
- International compensation determined by local market benchmarks and internal equity.
