About the Role
We are expanding our AI offerings and seeking an AI Engineer to develop AI solutions that work for SMEs. This includes creating prototypes, MVPs, RAG applications, AI-driven workflows, assistance systems, and technical integrations for real-world use cases in medium-sized companies.
Responsibilities
- Develop AI prototypes, MVPs, and production-ready applications.
- Build RAG systems, chatbot, and assistant solutions based on company data.
- Integrate AI models, APIs, data sources, document repositories, and vector databases.
- Develop automations and AI workflows using tools like Python, APIs, n8n, Make, or agent frameworks.
- Technically assess use cases for feasibility, effort, data requirements, security, and operation.
- Collaborate closely with consultants, subject matter experts, and client teams.
- Document architecture, assumptions, limitations, risks, and operational requirements.
- Contribute to building reusable components, templates, and technical standards.
Qualifications
Perfection in every point is not required. Practical experience, technical judgment, and the desire to effectively implement AI solutions in the SME sector are key.
- Experience in software development, ideally with Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, or comparable languages.
- Hands-on experience with LLMs, AI APIs, or frameworks such as OpenAI API, Azure OpenAI, LangChain, LlamaIndex, Hugging Face, Ollama, or similar technologies.
- Understanding of RAG, embeddings, vector databases, document processing, and prompt/system design.
- Experience with APIs, data pipelines, automation, or system integration.
- Basic understanding of cloud, hosting, deployment, Docker, or CI/CD.
- Interest in agentic workflows, AI automation, and low-code/no-code tools.
- Ability to explain technical topics clearly and document them thoroughly.
- Awareness of data privacy, security, governance, and responsible AI use.
- Excellent German language skills and good English language skills.
A degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Engineering, or a similar field is helpful but not mandatory if you can demonstrate your experience through projects, code, products, or work samples.
