Your Mission

As a Senior Infrastructure Engineer, you will build and operate the critical platform powering both our consumer tax product and Nino, our AI-driven personal finance tool. You will be responsible for scaling our databases, automating deployments, and establishing the infrastructure foundation for future AI-powered features. This role has a direct impact on users, ensuring clarity and reliability during crucial financial decision-making and tax seasons.

Your One-Year Outcomes

  • Ensure 99.9%+ uptime through tax season (Jan–Apr) via automated autoscaling, promotion gates, and SLO-based alerting.
  • Reduce deployment lead time by 50% by optimizing the CI/CD pipeline for sub-hour, zero-downtime rolling updates.
  • Establish the AI/ML infrastructure foundation, provisioning and operationalizing GCP resources for product team experimentation and ML feature deployment.
  • Enhance database performance at scale through read pool tuning, connection pooling validation, and automated performance regression detection.

What You Will Do

  • Operate and scale GKE clusters with KEDA-driven autoscaling for the consumer webapp.
  • Manage database infrastructure (primary instances, read pools, connection pooling, PSC networking) critical for tax season survivability.
  • Maintain Redis caching layers for high-scale session and data caching.
  • Operate GitOps pipelines and image-driven promotion workflows from staging to production.
  • Develop and maintain Helm charts for consistent multi-environment deployments.
  • Implement observability using OpenTelemetry (monitors, dashboards, PII-stripped metric routing, Pub/Sub export).
  • Secure the platform using Cloudflare, Cloud Armor WAF, CloudOrigin CA TLS certificates, and GCP Secret Manager.
  • Partner with backend and AI teams to provision staging environments for seamless experimentation and feature shipping.

  • Kubernetes proficiency: Cluster management, Workload Identity, autoscaling, PodDisruptionBudgets, node pools.
  • Database operations at scale: PostgreSQL/AlloyDB read pools, connection pooling (PgBouncer), capacity planning.
  • High-traffic webapp experience: Seasonal traffic spikes, zero-downtime deploys, rapid rollback.
  • Monitoring and observability: Alerting strategies, SLO/SLI definition.

Bonus Qualifications

  • GitOps experience (ArgoCD or similar).
  • Helm chart development and OCI packaging.
  • KEDA-specific autoscaling experience.
  • Terraform Cloud experience.
  • Datadog and OpenTelemetry experience.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Starting Salary Range: $165,750 - $195,000 USD (Candidate location does not impact this range).
  • Additional Compensation: Equity in CoinTracker.
  • Benefits: Medical, dental, vision, 401(k), life insurance, and PTO.
