About the Role

This is a freelance, part-time remote position for the Tendem project. As a Full-Stack Web App Developer, you will be responsible for designing, building, and refining browser-based applications with real logic, state, persistence, and user input. Your work will span various applications, from habit trackers and budgeting tools to internal dashboards, mini-SaaS products, and AI-powered apps. You may also develop standalone Python applications and data-processing scripts.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop interactive web applications using frontend frameworks (e.g., React, Next.js, Vue) and backend APIs (Python/FastAPI/Flask or Node/Express).
• Design and implement data models, schemas, and persistence layers using SQL or NoSQL databases.
• Implement authentication, sessions, and role-based access control as needed.
• Integrate third-party APIs and AI/LLM services (e.g., OpenAI, Anthropic) into product features.
• Manage state, user input validation, error handling, and loading states effectively.
• Build standalone Python tools and scripts for data processing, API clients, or backend utilities.
• Evaluate and refactor AI-generated full-stack code for correctness, security, performance, and maintainability.
• Write clear, testable code and debug end-to-end issues across the full stack.

Requirements and Benefits

• Required: At least 3 years of relevant experience in full-stack web development or shipping interactive web applications.
• Required: Strong command of JavaScript/TypeScript and at least one modern frontend framework (React, Next.js, Vue, Svelte, or similar).
• Required: Solid backend experience in Python (FastAPI, Flask, Django) and/or Node.js (Express, NestJS).
• Required: Hands-on experience with relational databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL, SQLite) and basic schema design.
• Required: Experience implementing REST APIs, request validation, error handling, and authentication flows.
• Required: Familiarity with deployment platforms (e.g., Vercel, Netlify, Render, Fly.io).
• Required: Comfortable with version control (Git) and basic testing practices.
• Required: Strong attention to detail and commitment to building robust, production-ready products.
• Required: Self-directed work ethic with the ability to architect, build, and ship features independently.
• Required: Portfolio of shipped web applications.
• Required: English proficiency: Upper-intermediate (B2) or above.
• Plus: Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, IT, or related technical fields.
• Plus: Experience integrating LLM APIs or other AI services into product features.

Project Time Expectations

• Tasks are estimated to require approximately 10-20 hours per week during active phases.

Compensation

• Contributors can earn up to $60 per hour equivalent, depending on experience and contribution level.
