About the Role: Full-Stack Web App Developer (AI Pilot) - Tendem Project

This is a freelance, part-time remote position focused on the Tendem project (https://tendem.ai/). As an AI Pilot, you will design, build, and refine interactive web applications, ranging from habit trackers and budgeting tools to internal dashboards and AI-powered SaaS applications. You will also develop standalone Python applications and data-processing scripts, working in a hybrid environment where AI assists in development tasks.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop interactive web applications using modern frontend frameworks (React, Next.js, Vue, etc.) and backend APIs (Python/FastAPI/Flask or Node/Express).
• Design and implement data models, schemas, and persistence layers with SQL or NoSQL databases.
• Implement authentication, session management, and role-based access control.
• Integrate third-party APIs and AI/LLM services (e.g., OpenAI, Anthropic) into product features.
• Manage state, input validation, error handling, and loading states effectively.
• Build supplementary Python tools and scripts for data processing and backend utilities.
• Evaluate, refactor, and improve AI-generated full-stack code for correctness, security, performance, and maintainability.
• Write clear, testable code and debug issues across the full stack (frontend, backend, database).

Requirements

• Experience: Minimum 3 years of relevant full-stack web development experience or a proven track record of shipping interactive web applications (Required).
• Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, IT, or a related technical field is a plus.
• Technical Skills:
• Strong command of JavaScript/TypeScript and a modern frontend framework (React, Next.js, Vue, Svelte, or similar).
• Solid backend experience in Python (FastAPI, Flask, Django) and/or Node.js (Express, NestJS).
• Hands-on experience with relational databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL, SQLite) and basic schema design.
• Experience implementing REST APIs, request validation, error handling, and authentication flows.
• Familiarity with deployment platforms (Vercel, Netlify, Render, Fly.io, Railway, etc.).
• Experience integrating LLM APIs or other AI services is a strong plus.
• Proficiency with Git and basic testing practices.
• Work Ethic: Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, ability to independently architect and ship complete features, and a self-directed work ethic.
• Portfolio: A portfolio showcasing shipped web applications is required.
• Language: English proficiency (Upper-intermediate B2 or above) is required.

Project Details

• Workload: Estimated 10–20 hours per week during active project phases. This is an estimate and not a guaranteed workload.
• Compensation: Up to $30 per hour equivalent, based on experience, skill level, and contribution pace. Compensation may vary across different projects.
