Full-Stack Web App Developer (AI Pilot) - Tendem Project

Mindrift is seeking skilled Full-Stack Web App Developers proficient in JavaScript/TypeScript and Python or Node.js to join the innovative Tendem project. As an AI Pilot, you will collaborate with AI agents and human specialists to build interactive browser-based applications within a hybrid AI + human environment.

About the Role

This is a freelance, part-time remote role for a Tendem project. You will be responsible for designing, building, and refining browser-based applications with complex logic, state management, persistence, and user input. This includes developing habit trackers, budgeting tools, internal dashboards, mini-SaaS products, and AI-powered applications. You may also develop standalone Python applications and data-processing scripts.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop interactive web applications using modern frontend frameworks (e.g., React, Next.js, Vue) and backend APIs (e.g., Python/FastAPI/Flask or Node/Express).
• Design and implement data models, schemas, and persistence layers using SQL (e.g., PostgreSQL, SQLite) or NoSQL databases.
• Implement authentication, session management, and basic role-based access control.
• Integrate third-party APIs and AI/LLM services (e.g., OpenAI, Anthropic) into product features.
• Manage application state, user input validation, and error handling effectively.
• Build standalone Python tools and scripts for data processing, API clients, or backend utilities as needed.
• Evaluate AI-generated full-stack code, refactoring for correctness, security, performance, and maintainability.
• Write clear, testable code and debug end-to-end issues across frontend, backend, and database layers.

Requirements

• Required: A minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in full-stack web development or shipping interactive web applications.
• Required: A portfolio of shipped web applications.
• Required: Upper-intermediate (B2) or above English proficiency.
• A Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related technical field is a plus.
• Strong foundation in full-stack web development, modern frontend frameworks, backend architecture, and end-to-end application development.
• Proficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript and at least one modern frontend framework (e.g., React, Next.js, Vue, Svelte).
• Solid backend experience in Python (e.g., FastAPI, Flask, Django) and/or Node.js (e.g., Express, NestJS).
• Hands-on experience with relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL, SQLite) and basic schema design.
• Experience implementing REST APIs, request validation, error handling, and authentication flows.
• Familiarity with deployment platforms (e.g., Vercel, Netlify, Render, Fly.io, Railway).
• Experience integrating LLM APIs or other AI services is a strong plus.
• Comfortable with version control (Git) and basic testing practices.
• Strong attention to detail and a commitment to building robust, functional products.
• A self-directed work ethic with the ability to architect, build, and ship features independently.

Project Details

• Estimated Workload: 10–20 hours per week during active project phases.
• Compensation: Up to $60 per hour equivalent, based on experience and contribution level.
