Beginning Pay Range: $49,920.00 - $55,250.00

About this Opportunity

The Behavioral Health Therapist is a trained professional responsible for working with clients under 18 years of age in individual, family, or group settings. The primary focus is to help children understand and manage a wide range of developmental and behavioral issues. This includes providing in-home therapy, connecting families with appropriate mental health resources, or offering individual therapy in an office setting. The role may also involve supporting Enhanced Foster Care cases by working with foster parents to stabilize children in care. Treatment areas can encompass depression, anxiety, effects of child abuse, self-harm, eating disorders, phobias, aggression, and other behavioral or emotional difficulties. The therapist will assess children's issues by observing behaviors and determining the most beneficial treatments.

Ideal Candidate Profile

  • Master’s degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, or Marriage & Family Therapy required.
  • Must be licensed to practice mental health therapy in the state of Michigan. Temporary or limited licensed individuals must be actively pursuing full licensure.
  • Strong knowledge of child development and a trauma-informed approach.
  • Knowledge related to foster and adoptive children and families is preferred.
  • Valid driver's license required.
