Location: London (Holborn) - Hybrid (2 days/week in office encouraged)

The Impact You’ll Have

As a Technical Account Manager at Marqeta, your mission is to serve as a trusted technical and payments advisor for several strategically important customers. You will manage all technical aspects of Marqeta’s relationship with them throughout the customer life cycle, acting as the front line for customer communication while collaborating internally to win new business, increase value with existing customers, and strengthen relationships.

You will build expertise by learning from our Solutions Engineering, Product, and Technology teams. In return, you will deliver critical customer feedback to help shape our roadmap and refine our offerings.

  • Trusted Technical Advisor: Whether analyzing requirements for new opportunities or coordinating ongoing implementations, you'll be the go-to technical expert. You'll ensure key technical influencers at our customers deeply understand our technology, its strategic advantages, and how to integrate quickly. You'll solve both near-term technical problems and contribute to customers' long-term money movement vision.
  • Proactive Problem-Solver: Customers will rely on you to solve technical issues and realize their long-term vision. You'll approach problems with empathy, offering clear recommendations. You'll identify downstream impacts and "gotchas" before they occur and document findings to train others and create repeatable standards.
  • Customer Advocate: You'll regularly attend product and engineering meetings, providing the "voice of the customer" to guide these teams. Your cross-team and cross-customer work will offer unparalleled insights into how Marqeta enables clients, the competitive landscape, and future product development needs.

Who You Are

  • 5+ years of customer-facing experience (e.g., Technical Account Management, Solutions Engineering, Technical Consulting) in high-tech or financial technology services, leading technical discussions and solutions.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate technical issues to diverse audiences and explain business impact.
  • Ability to execute quickly, provide effective resolutions, and analyze situations from multiple perspectives.
  • Skilled at facilitating customer collaboration and influencing internal teams to achieve customer outcomes.
  • A resourceful problem-solver who proactively suggests improvements and challenges the status quo.
  • Ability to prioritize, manage, and deliver multiple projects simultaneously; highly motivated and able to work independently under tight deadlines.
  • Experience with and/or enthusiasm for learning about APIs.
  • Demonstrated strong understanding of fintech (e.g., acquiring, networks, point-of-sale) and payments, particularly on the issuing side.
  • Proven ability to identify key customer stakeholders, engage, and build relationships independently.
