(Junior) Consultant Application Engineer (m/w/d)

About the Role

This position serves as the technical interface between clients and the development team. You will be responsible for conceptualizing and implementing tailored technical solutions, supporting technical project management, and effectively communicating complex technical concepts to clients. You will receive comprehensive onboarding on an existing project within the Life Science sector, guided by an experienced colleague.

Responsibilities

• Understand and prepare business and technical requirements in collaboration with the team and clients.
• Contribute to the design of solution concepts for cloud architectures and infrastructures (AWS or Azure).
• Assist in developing technical sketches, API designs, and integrations with increasing autonomy.
• Prepare and conduct technical workshops and demos.
• Manage container builds and deployments using Docker.
• Develop and enhance APIs and microservices (e.g., in Python or Typescript/Node.js).
• Work with relational databases (schema, queries, ORM fundamentals).
• Integrate various systems via APIs (REST, Webhooks).
• Adhere to security and compliance guidelines.

Requirements

• Completed degree in Computer Science, Business Informatics, or a comparable qualification.
• First practical experience (e.g., through internships or working student positions) in application engineering, consulting, or the software sector is advantageous.
• Curiosity about technical interrelationships and a desire to understand complex systems step-by-step.
• Ability to work in diverse project environments (remote-first).
• Strong communication skills and enjoyment in collaborating with clients.
• Very good German and good English language skills.
