About the Role
Curql Accelerate Powered by gener8tor is seeking a motivated Managing Director (MD) to lead its accelerator programming. This role focuses on sourcing, recruiting, and selecting fintech companies, designing and executing a 12-week hybrid program (with three on-site weeks at credit unions), coaching founders, and building a strong network of mentors, investors, and credit union partners. The MD will be responsible for creating exceptional program experiences and ensuring startups are set up for success, acting as the central connector within the fintech and banking ecosystem.
Responsibilities
- Recruit startup applicants and lead the due diligence and selection process in collaboration with Curql.
- Find and develop relationships with fintech mentors, investors, credit unions, and other industry/ecosystem partners.
- Plan logistics, engage the network, and execute accelerator programs and related activities.
- Serve as the lead mentor-coach for cohort participants and continuously gather updates.
- Build relationships with ecosystem partners and engage in broader startup communities, acting as an "Startup Mayor" for the network.
- Coordinate and collaborate with gener8tor staff, Curql, and external program partners.
- Provide reporting and manage account management elements with external program partners.
- Collaborate with other gener8tor team members to support national programs.
- Assist program alumni with ongoing mentor, sponsor, and investor relations.
- Champion the startup ecosystems and the entrepreneurs involved.
Requirements
- Entrepreneurial spirit and self-starter mentality; experience as a founder, employee in a venture-backed company, or in venture capital is recommended.
- Familiarity and experience with credit unions and/or community banking, with a personal interest in fintech.
- Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills, with executive presence.
- Collaborative, team-based mindset.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, highly independent environment and manage multiple projects and relationships.
- Flexibility to travel up to 25%, work some nights and weekends.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Willingness to intensively and rapidly dive deeper into fintech, startups, strategic investment, and credit union communities.
