About the Role

As a Senior Product Engineer specializing in Mechanical Engineering (Maschinenbau), you will be instrumental in developing technically sophisticated products that move beyond standard solutions. You will assess technical requirements, devise economically viable solutions, and manage products from their initial conception through to successful mass production. This role blends development work with a deep understanding of manufacturing, feasibility, and industrial implementation.

Responsibilities

• Technical Customer Consultation: Serve as the primary technical point of contact for demanding clients in high-tech future industries.
• Proposal Evaluation: Assess new and complex customer inquiries for technical feasibility and economic viability.
• Product Development: Provide technical support from the design and concept phase through to series production readiness.
• Manufacturing Strategy: Develop economically and technically optimal manufacturing strategies, including make-or-buy decisions.
• Interface Management: Oversee technical coordination between Sales, Production, Purchasing, Quality, Research, and Development departments.
• Product Responsibility: Assume final technical accountability for complex products and assemblies.
• Stakeholder Coordination: Coordinate internal and external technical interfaces to ensure well-founded decision-making.

Requirements

• Technical Education: Completed education in Mechanical Engineering (e.g., HTL, FH, or TU).
• Engineering Experience: Several years of professional experience in development engineering, product development, or in special machine/plant construction.
• Manufacturing Understanding: Practical experience in design, manufacturing, or joining technology with a solid grasp of tolerances and technical feasibility.
• Project Competence: Experience in project management or technical leadership of interdisciplinary teams.
• System Know-how: Very good CAD skills and experience with PDM, PLM, or ERP systems.
• Analytical Strength: Structured, analytical, and solution-oriented approach with strong logical reasoning abilities.
• Personality: High degree of personal responsibility, hands-on mentality, and a confident demeanor as a technical interface.
• Language Proficiency: Fluent German and English.
