About the Role
Pioneer is seeking a Sales Field Agronomist to serve Southwest Wisconsin (Crawford, Grant, Green, Iowa, Juneau, La Crosse, Lafayette, Monroe, Richland, Sauk & Vernon counties). This role requires travel within the territory and the candidate should reside within the designated area. It's an excellent opportunity for someone passionate about providing solutions to growers and developing/leading a high-performing team.
What You'll Do
- Salesmanship & Relationship Building: Coach and exhibit professional agronomy salesmanship, building effective relationships and conducting value-added negotiations through on-farm sales calls with Pioneer Agents for existing customers and prospects.
- Empower Agency Network: Educate and empower the Pioneer agency network to deliver a best-in-class grower experience with sound agronomic advice and optimized product management.
- Local Trials & Communications: Lead local trials and execute an agronomy communications plan to support grower education and sales growth.
- Team Development: Support the onboarding and agronomic development of high-quality sellers to ensure a differentiated customer experience and sustained market share growth.
- Product & Portfolio Expertise: Maintain thorough agronomic and technical knowledge of Pioneer products and services, leveraging the full Corteva portfolio (seed, seed treatment, digital tools, crop protection, biologicals, etc.) for comprehensive offerings.
- Cultural Modeling: Embody integrity, determination, adaptability, passion, and collaboration.
- Collaboration & Communication: Work collaboratively and communicate consistently with peers, support functions, leaders, and external partners.
- Advocacy: Champion breakthrough ideas and solutions up and down the chain of command.
- Market Anticipation: Anticipate market opportunities and threats, positioning the sales team for success.
- Troubleshooting: Address customer concerns and identify mutually beneficial solutions.
What You'll Need
- Education: Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience; Master's degree preferred.
- Experience: 5-7 years of agronomy sales experience, with preference for experience in educating and empowering others.
- Skills: Ability to sell, negotiate, influence, resolve conflict, and coach.
- Knowledge: Agronomy and crop production experience desired.
- Logistics: Willingness to travel and work in a rural environment. Ability to pass a driving record background check.
