About the Role: Senior Value Engineer
As a Senior Value Engineer at Fivetran + dbt Labs, you will be instrumental in driving measurable customer success by shaping how organizations realize, expand, and sustain value through dbt and Fivetran. You will partner with strategic customers and internal executive stakeholders to accelerate adoption, strengthen renewals, and fuel account growth. This is a high-visibility, high-impact role where you'll act as a trusted advisor, connecting business outcomes to product capabilities and ensuring quantifiable impact. You will define and scale a best-in-class value engineering practice, blending strategic thinking, deep analytical skills, and business process expertise.
What You Will Do:
- Collaborate with sales leaders and account teams to define value delivery strategies for key accounts.
- Engage with top prospects to identify, understand, and quantify their unique challenges and potential benefits with dbt.
- Communicate the dbt Labs value proposition in alignment with customer objectives.
- Lead business value reviews and develop business cases to effectively communicate realized business impacts and potential economic benefits.
- Analyze customer workflows and processes to identify optimization opportunities.
- Create and deliver executive presentations.
- Partner with dbt leadership to build new value-based go-to-market motions.
- Provide guidance on best practices for maximizing dbt Labs solutions.
- Conduct training and workshops to enhance understanding of business value and customer excellence.
- Build scalable programs and tools to support value selling across the GTM ecosystem.
- Contribute to developing best practices and tools for the value engineering practice.

- Prior Business Value experience at a high-growth SaaS startup, especially in building a Business Value team.
- A proven record of influencing senior executives and driving measurable customer outcomes.
Qualifications:
- 7+ years of experience in value engineering, management consulting, or a related customer-facing role.
- Expert knowledge and experience in value-based selling methodologies.
- Demonstrated experience in building and briefing business cases to executives.
- Expertise in identifying and prioritizing use cases, implementing improvement measures, and acting as a change agent.
- Ability to project manage across multiple workstreams.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to act decisively with ambiguous guidance.

Compensation:
- Competitive compensation packages including salary, equity, and performance-based pay.
- Typical starting salary range: $155,000 - $200,000 USD OTE.
