The Impact of a Sr. Associate Knowledge Manager

As the execution engine for Coupa’s Value Services division's transition from manual "Doers" to strategic "Editors," you will identify and automate operational bottlenecks. Partnering with frontline experts, you will deconstruct legacy workflows, translate human actions into machine-executable logic, and deliver "Launch-Ready Packages" with business specs and ROI justifications for enterprise IT to deploy AI solutions.

What You'll Do

  • Triage and analyze crowdsourced operational pain points from the Value Services frontline to identify bottlenecks with the highest dual-value ROI (reducing manual hours and accelerating customer time-to-value).
  • Conduct rapid, targeted data collection with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to deconstruct "Human Middleware" workflows (e.g., manual routing, data-entry).
  • Map complex human workflows into "as-is" and AI-optimized "to-be" blueprints, identifying where AI agents will replace manual tasks and applying systems-thinking to prevent automating broken processes. Map logic boundaries, decision trees, and prompt constraints for the AI Orchestrator.
  • Draft comprehensive business logic specs, decision matrices, and ROI justifications required by enterprise IT for deploying prioritized AI solutions.
  • Partner with frontline SMEs to pressure-test process specs, identify edge cases, logic gaps, and localization nuances before handing requirements to the IT pipeline.
  • Establish and scale a continuous operational feedback loop to capture workflow pain points and identify new automation or optimization vectors. Equip business leaders with data-driven frameworks and operational metrics to define automated workflow SLAs and optimize performance.

What You Will Bring to Coupa

  • 3-5 years of experience analyzing and redesigning complex business processes, translating human-driven workflows into structured, machine-executable logic, process maps, and operational frameworks.
  • Proven ability to partner with business and technical stakeholders to evaluate workflow automation opportunities and define optimal handoffs between automated systems and human decision-making.
  • Experience authoring detailed business requirements, user stories, functional specifications, and process documentation.
  • Proficiency in process mapping and visualization tools (e.g., Lucidchart, Visio, Miro).
  • Experience conducting operational and process analysis to identify inefficiencies, quantify business impact, and deliver workflow improvements.
  • Application of a rigorous QA and "Red Team" mindset to anticipate process failures, design controls, facilitate workshops, and lead change management initiatives.
