About the Role: Product Development Manager, Woven Apparel

The Product Development team is passionate about products and possesses an obsessive eye for detail. We are looking for a Product Development Manager for Woven apparel with excellent communication and problem-solving skills to manage the entire process from product development through to production handoff to our sourcing team. You will collaborate cross-functionally with Design, Raw Materials, Merchandising, Planning, Technical Design, Sourcing, and Quality teams to build best-in-class products. This role involves managing 2-3 quarters concurrently at different development stages and leading the team through the product life cycle calendar. This position reports directly to the Director of Product Development.

Your Day-to-Day:

  • Partner cross-functionally with Design, Technical Design, Raw Materials & Merchandising, focusing on product excellence while prioritizing quality, innovation, sustainability, and cost.
  • Ensure products are developed on time and according to design intent, offering creative solutions for construction, finishes, and costing.
  • Build strong relationships with external suppliers via email and phone to create great products.
  • Own initial costing, time and action calendars, and maintain internal tools for cross-functional communication and transparency.
  • Manage seasonal development milestones, including long lead-time calendars and addressing development constraints with creative solutions.
  • Track style development ratios to meet business needs and workload balance.
  • Manage sample and mock-up requests for vetting new material options with Raw Materials and Quality teams.
  • Own final Bills of Materials (BOMs) within the PLM system.
  • Manage lab dip approvals, trim approvals, and sample yardage tracking.
  • Partner with Raw Materials and Sourcing for factory and mill allocation.
  • Collaborate with Raw Materials to ensure sustainability and cost targets are met.
  • Manage bookings through manufacturing with suppliers.
  • Communicate and partner with Planning and Merchandising teams on delivery status, shortages, and cuts.
  • Coach and mentor team members through influence.

We’d Love to Hear From You If You Have:

  • 5+ years of product development experience in woven apparel; outerwear experience is a plus.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with diverse cross-functional teams.
  • Passion for product with a meticulous attention to detail.
  • An entrepreneurial and resourceful approach to process improvement.
  • In-depth cost negotiation and time management skills.
  • Intermediate knowledge of software/systems: PLM, Google Sheets, Airtable.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, adaptable environment.
  • Strong organizational skills, timeliness, and a high level of accuracy.
  • Ideally well-versed in wet and dry processing.
  • Ability to travel overseas and work with diverse cultures.

The Fine Print:

HQ: This is a full-time role based at our Los Angeles office headquarters. We operate on a hybrid schedule, requiring at least three days in the office per week (Tuesdays through Thursdays).

California Residents: The annual compensation range for this role is $81,000 - $120,000. This range is specific to the Los Angeles geographic area and actual pay may vary based on your skills, qualifications, experience, and geographic location.
