Overview

The Business Development Manager – Standalone Services is responsible for expanding the Cypress Creek Solutions (Operations and Maintenance) Standalone Services business across the United States. This includes our module washing, array services, EPC milestone inspections, Inverter Specialty Services, and vegetation maintenance offerings. You will manage client relationships through operational onboarding and support the Account Management team in increasing customer value. Key functions include sourcing new clients, cultivating relationships, generating proposals, and negotiating contracts. You will also have the opportunity to shape the go-to-market strategy.

Reporting to the Vice President, Commercial Operations, your primary goal is to forge lasting, mutually beneficial partnerships that result in new contracts. You'll need to communicate expertly and technically with clients in a transparent and trustworthy manner, developing creative and tailored solutions for each unique client and project. As the face of Cypress Creek Solutions during the sales process, you will embody our company values.

Responsibilities

  • Identify potential clients within Cypress Creek Solutions target markets and conduct thorough research on their business needs.
  • Initiate outreach through personal and professional networks to establish relationships with prospective clients.
  • Conduct in-person and videoconference sales meetings to present Cypress Creek Solutions' service offerings and value proposition, identify collaboration opportunities, and understand customer procurement processes.
  • Manage and execute proposal development, collaborating closely with the Cypress Creek Solutions Business Development Analyst and key stakeholders.
  • Follow up with clients to ensure continued participation in the RFP process and amend proposals based on client feedback.
  • Log and track all opportunities and account outreach in the CRM for executive reporting.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with prospective and existing clients.
  • Conduct market research to stay updated on client news and industry trends, informing the go-to-market approach.
  • Meet or exceed quarterly and annual sales targets.
  • Negotiate key commercial and technical terms with clients, collaborating with the O&M team to execute contracts that align with target profitability and risk exposure.
  • Support the Account Management team in securing new business from existing customers and expanding scope on current contracts.

Education & Experience Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, construction, or engineering; MBA or other advanced degree is valued but not required.
  • Minimum of 5 years of account management or business development experience in the energy industry.
  • Experience developing or working directly with pricing models for operations and maintenance services is highly valued.
  • Experience negotiating operations and maintenance services contracts with a focus on profitability and risk reduction is highly valued.
  • Strong network of relationships within the renewable industry.
  • Demonstrated success in B2B sales.
  • Deep understanding of the industry, with the ability to become a subject matter expert.
  • Technical expertise in solar, storage, and substation assets is required.
  • Strong verbal and written communication, analytical, organizational, and time management skills.
  • An unrelenting drive to identify and close new opportunities.

  • Ability to travel up to 30% of the time.

Location

This is a remote role. Candidates based in Asheville and Durham, NC, are encouraged to apply due to the presence of our offices and the availability of a hybrid schedule.
