Join Our Mission
We are seeking an experienced Product/Technical Project Manager to lead the Pear Platform team. This role is critical for ensuring the successful delivery of the Pear Platform, which underpins products like Keet. The ideal candidate will bridge technical expertise with product thinking, taking ownership of deliverables from conception to deployment and ensuring reliable basic functionality.
Responsibilities:
- Platform Delivery & Ownership:
- Own platform deliverables from identification through resolution and testing, ensuring completion.
- Establish clear definitions for platform features, distinguishing between stable/guaranteed and experimental functionality.
- Monitor core platform health and coordinate urgent issue resolution.
- Establish and maintain a predictable sprint cadence for delivery.
- Product-Driven Platform Management:
- Create actionable roadmaps prioritizing high-impact work.
- Collaborate with internal teams to scope and deliver publicly consumable components.
- Work with the documentation lead to prioritize and resource developer guides and tutorials.
- Cross-Functional Coordination & Communication:
- Provide regular, transparent updates on platform status, risks, and timelines to all stakeholders.
- Manage cross-team dependencies, especially during major platform transitions.
- Facilitate alignment among development, QA, product, and business stakeholders on goals and priorities.
- Process & Quality Improvement:
- Build debugging and error reporting systems to convert user crashes into actionable engineering data.
- Drive systematic tooling and processes to solve classes of problems.
- Implement processes ensuring platform changes are compatible with dependent products.
Job Requirements:
- Technical Knowledge:
- Experience with development tools (Git, project management tools, collaboration platforms).
- Solid understanding of testing approaches (unit, integration, end-to-end), test automation, and performance testing.
- Familiarity with installer systems, application boot processes, and performance optimization.
- Experience with SDK development and module architecture.
- Project Management Skills:
- Strong proficiency in planning, scheduling, resource allocation, and stakeholder management.
- Proven track record of taking ownership and driving deliverables to completion.
- Experience establishing and maintaining sprint cadences and team processes.
- Experience creating and maintaining issue trackers aligned with roadmap priorities and sprint commitments.
- Soft Skills:
- Excellent communication skills, capable of providing clear updates and managing accountability.
- Strong problem-solving skills with a focus on systematic solutions.
- Ability to discern urgency vs. importance and communicate priorities effectively.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with peer-to-peer (P2P) technologies or distributed systems.
- Knowledge of Electron or similar cross-platform application frameworks.
- Experience with Linux packaging systems (Snap, AppImage, etc.).
- Background in developer tooling or SDK development.
- Experience working on platform/infrastructure teams supporting multiple product teams.
