TEAS / HESI (Nursing) Exams Instructor

Position Overview

Upswing is looking for a skilled remote instructor to lead a live, interactive workshop series focused on TEAS and HESI entrance exam preparation. The ideal candidate possesses strong subject matter expertise and can create an engaging virtual learning environment.

This role involves facilitating six live workshops via Zoom, covering core exam areas like reading, math, science, and English/language usage. The workshops should be interactive and student-centered, incorporating practice questions, strategy coaching, and Q&A sessions. Compensation is $600 - $1,200 for the design and delivery of six workshops, plus some email communication with Upswing Tutor Management.

Workshop Schedule: Wednesdays, 6:00 PM - 7:00 PM CST

Key Responsibilities

• Design and facilitate six live online workshops for TEAS and/or HESI exam preparation.
• Deliver engaging instruction on key exam subjects: reading comprehension, mathematics, science (biology, anatomy & physiology, chemistry), grammar and language usage, and test-taking strategies.
• Create an interactive virtual learning experience using polls, multiple-choice questions, chat, breakout activities, and guided practice.
• Adapt instruction to meet diverse student skill levels.
• Provide students with actionable study strategies and exam preparation techniques.
• Share supplemental practice resources or study recommendations.
• Collaborate with program staff on scheduling, curriculum alignment, and student engagement.
• Track attendance and provide brief post-session summaries.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in education, nursing, health sciences, or a related field with a minimum GPA of 3.5.
• 3+ years of prior teaching, tutoring, or workshop facilitation experience for TEAS and/or HESI preparation.
• Demonstrated expertise in nursing school entrance exams.
• Experience teaching in a remote environment using Zoom.
• Strong presentation and group facilitation skills.
• Ability to explain complex concepts clearly to adult and college-level learners.
• Reliable internet connection and professional remote setup.

Preferred Qualifications

• Master’s degree in a related field.
• Experience working with college students, adult learners, or academic support programs.
• Familiarity with standardized test prep curriculum development.
• Previous experience leading multi-session online workshops.
• Nursing, pre-health, or allied health academic background.
