PM Pediatric Care is committed to bringing passion and customer focus to our services. We are seeking a dedicated Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist to play a crucial role in our virtual Behavioral Health Program.

About the Role

This unique opportunity is open to Per Diem (12-15 hours/week) and Part Time (minimum 20 hours/week) positions. Part-time roles are benefits-eligible. The position focuses on providing comprehensive behavioral health services for common conditions seen in child psychiatry, such as depression, anxiety, ADHD, and conduct disorders, within an extended virtual model. This is a per-diem or part-time position with opportunities for growth.

Responsibilities

  • Work as part of the virtual behavioral health team, providing patient services using evidence-based medicine.
  • Diagnose and assess mental/behavioral health disorders for pediatric, adolescent, and young adult patients, formulating differential diagnoses.
  • Demonstrate appropriate clinical judgment in assessment and treatment, following established clinical care guidelines.
  • Collaborate and communicate with the therapist team and medical leadership to discuss patient treatment plans.
  • Order and interpret diagnostic tests when appropriate.
  • Conduct patient history and initial evaluations of incoming patients.
  • Prescribe medications as part of the patient’s treatment regime as allowed by license.
  • Provide both medication management and counseling for patients.
  • Educate patients and parents on medication side effects, risks/benefits, and proper usage.
  • Establish and modify patient treatment plans based on clinical assessment and re-assessment with screening tools.
  • Appropriately document each patient visit in the electronic medical record.
  • Communicate the patient’s plan of care with the behavioral health team and the patient’s primary care physician.
  • Work with members of the healthcare team in educating patients about their medical care.
  • Continually update clinical knowledge and skills through consultation, education, and literature review.
  • Provide appropriate referrals when necessary.
  • Provide supervision to psychiatric nurse practitioners.

Qualifications

  • MD/DO with appropriate licensing in states prescribing.
  • Experience with prior psychopharmacology management.
  • Board eligible or board certified in child and adolescent psychiatry.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to screen for danger to self or others.
  • Demonstrated adherence to acceptable ethical and behavioral standards of conduct.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively within a team.
  • Experience working specifically with children and adolescents.
  • Valid DEA License in states prescribing.
  • Valid Medical License in states prescribing.
  • Valid NY Medicaid Number preferred.

Compensation

  • Compensation Range: $120 - $135/hour.
  • The salary/rate range is a potential base salary/rate and may vary based on experience, location, and licensure.
