About the Role

The VP of Field Operations for the West Coast is a strategic leadership position focused on optimizing practice operations, driving sustainable growth, and ensuring operational excellence. You will build strong relationships with doctors and teams, implement best practices, and lead direct reports to achieve business objectives and enhance productivity.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute quarterly practice visit plans, conducting bi-weekly site visits to engage with practices and maximize growth and financial performance.
  • Build strong, trusting relationships with partner and associate doctors, aligning them with Specialty1 Partners' vision and strategic goals.
  • Oversee onboarding and off-boarding processes for associates, including growth planning and transition support.
  • Coordinate and resolve payroll issues with relevant teams.
  • Mentor and develop Regional Directors of Operations (RDOs) through regular 1:1s and Individual Development Plans (IDPs).
  • Realign and expand the RDO team to manage organic and M&A growth and effectively manage regional budgets.
  • Conduct monthly operational reviews (MORs) with RDOs, developing and monitoring SMART action plans for EBITDA optimization.
  • Prepare quarterly business reviews (QBRs) for senior leadership, detailing achievements, challenges, and growth strategies.
  • Identify and resolve operational inefficiencies to improve practice production and margins.
  • Collaborate with corporate support departments on strategic initiatives (e.g., doctor recruiting, marketing, compliance).
  • Ensure compliance with policies and SOPs in partnership with the regional compliance team.
  • Focus on associate doctor retention by fostering engagement and supporting the associate mentorship program.
  • Lead and measure the outcomes of strategic initiatives, refining processes for maximum impact.
  • Implement best practices across Practice Management Systems (PMS) for scheduling, insurance verification, payment collections, and revenue cycle management.
  • Develop and present business cases for regional growth opportunities.
  • Leverage knowledge of call center and telephone configurations to ensure immediate patient access.
  • Communicate KPI practice performance, aligning teams with budget expectations.
  • Cascade change management and communications to RDOs and practice administrators.
  • Drive new practice openings, relocations, lease renewals, and major equipment acquisitions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Healthcare Management, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in operations management within a healthcare or dental support environment.
  • Proven track record of leadership in multi-location management.
  • Strong leadership, team development, and mentoring abilities.
  • Expertise in operational planning, process optimization, and change management.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Data-driven mindset with strong analytical skills for KPI monitoring.
  • Proficiency in Excel (including pivot tables) and PowerPoint.
  • Familiarity with HRIS systems (e.g., UKG), Smartsheet, and other workflow tools.
  • Familiarity with call center and telephone routing configurations.

Compensation

Position Base Pay Range: $150,000 USD - $200,000 USD
