Before You Apply

This role involves significant travel (up to 50%) and requires strong autonomy and an entrepreneurial mindset. You will own the full sales cycle for your territory, driving planning and outcomes. Low ego and high EQ are essential for working with public servants.

Remote-first, with up to 50% travel required across your region for conferences, onsite demos, and team sessions in NYC.

  • You have a background in full-cycle sales with a proven track record of closing enterprise and multi-stakeholder deals.
  • You are energized by in-person sales, relationship-building, and customer storytelling.

  • You are scrappy, self-directed, and proactive in generating pipeline.
  • You possess high emotional intelligence, humility, and a collaborative spirit.

What You'll Do

  • Lead the full sales cycle: outbound prospecting, live demos, proposal management, contract negotiation, and closing.
  • Own and execute a Go-To-Market (GTM) plan for your territory, identifying high-priority customers and creatively breaking into accounts.
  • Run tailored, high-impact product demos that align with customer goals and highlight Kaizen's values.
  • Spend up to 50% of your time in the field, attending conferences, leading demos, conducting educational sessions, and building relationships with public sector leaders.
  • Maintain active communication with prospects, driving momentum and strengthening relationships throughout long sales cycles.
  • Bring fresh, creative approaches to government sales.
  • Collaborate with Operations, Partnerships, and other GTM teammates to align on outbound strategy.
  • Partner with Design and Engineering to relay customer feedback and influence roadmap direction.
  • Develop deep product expertise and stay informed on competitive trends in the govtech landscape.
  • Maintain pipeline hygiene daily in CRM.

What You'll Bring

  • 4-7 years of experience in sales, preferably in a high-growth startup (SLED experience is a bonus).
  • Proven ability to lead full-cycle enterprise sales processes using methodologies like MEDDPIC, Challenger, and Force.
  • Experience with field sales.
  • Comfortable demoing software independently.
  • Proficiency in sales tools: Salesforce, Outreach, Gong, LinkedIn, ZoomInfo, etc.
  • High EQ, strong communication skills, and a thoughtful approach to relationship-building.
