Cloud Network Monitoring (CNM) provides visibility into network traffic between services, containers, and availability zones within Datadog. Our core responsibility is tracking network flows on the host using eBPF, ensuring deep visibility into network health and signals across various Linux distributions and kernel versions. Datadog is heavily investing in Network Monitoring to offer comprehensive Layer 1-7 visibility. The CNM team builds the agent-side instrumentation using eBPF programs that capture network activity at the kernel level at scale. A key challenge is handling high volumes of network data and kernel events while maintaining a minimal host footprint. Balancing exhaustive observability with performance invisible to the monitored workloads is critical to product success.
In this role, you will work at the intersection of eBPF, the Linux kernel, and network infrastructure. You will contribute to Network Monitoring features within the Datadog Agent, investigate production incidents, improve reliability, and help shape the architecture of one of the industry's most widely deployed eBPF solutions. Datadog values its office culture and operates as a hybrid workplace to foster work-life harmony.
Datadog values people from all walks of life. If you’re passionate about technology and want to grow your skills, we encourage you to apply, even if you don’t meet all qualifications on day one.
