Entrepreneur in Residence (m/w/d)

About the Role

Do you want to understand how a D2C brand truly works – not from a textbook, but by pulling every lever yourself? Then this role is for you. As an Entrepreneur in Residence at Heimgart, you will work directly with management on all functions of a Direct-to-Consumer company: from marketing and performance, product, purchasing, and operations, to finance, B2B sales, and strategy. You won't get a narrowly defined area of responsibility, but a rare opportunity to dive deep into the entire operating system of a profitable D2C brand – with the explicit goal that you could then build and lead every aspect of such a business yourself.

Responsibilities

Over the duration of the program, you will take on real responsibility in all central functions of a D2C company in direct collaboration with our management:

Growth & Marketing

• Performance marketing (Google Ads, Meta, Pinterest), funnel and conversion optimization, tracking and attribution.
• Retention, CRM, email/lifecycle marketing, and reactivation of existing customers.

Product, Purchasing & Operations

• Assortment and product development, suppliers and procurement, logistics and fulfillment via JTL.
• Process optimization and building scalable workflows.

Sales & Business Development

• B2B customer development, new sales channels, and partnerships (e.g., corporate gifting, retail).

Finance & Strategy

• Unit economics, contribution margin accounting, reporting, and planning – understanding what makes a D2C business profitable.
• Strategic projects directly alongside management.

Qualifications

• Entrepreneurial drive – you aim to found or lead a business yourself in the future and use this role as a stepping stone.
• Very good analytical skills and a hands-on mentality: You prefer to act rather than delegate.
• Generalist with curiosity beyond functional boundaries – marketing, numbers, product, and operations equally do not intimidate you.
• Initial professional experience (e.g., consulting, startup, e-commerce) or a strong academic background with proven initiative.
• Very good German and English; confident use of data and common tools.
• Willingness to take responsibility in a small team and handle ambiguity.
