Freelance Video Editor (Short-Form Content)

Forbes Advisor is seeking an experienced Freelance Video Editor to support our growing short-form content operation on an ongoing retainer basis. We produce high-volume, performance-oriented creative content for Meta platforms (Facebook/Instagram) and other social media channels.

About the Role

This role focuses on creating platform-native content with strong pacing, hooks, retention, and storytelling instincts for social-first environments. You will work in a collaborative, iterative workflow where creative is regularly tested and refined. We value consistency, responsiveness, and creative judgment over overly polished brand-style editing.

Initially, this role is expected to be up to 4 days per week, with flexibility depending on workflow. You will work directly with the Head of Creative Strategy and a team of Creative Strategists.

• Start Date: ASAP (ideally before end of June)
• Contract Structure: Ongoing freelance / retainer arrangement
• Location: UK- or US-based preferred

Working Hours:

• UK: 9am–5pm
• US: 8am–4pm (local time)

Expected Output:

Our current production cadence is approximately:

• 4 batches of content per week
• Each batch contains roughly 5 short-form edits
• Most edits are approximately 30 seconds in length

Output expectations are flexible initially while workflows and creative processes are established. We prioritize consistency, collaboration, and the ability to iterate quickly.

Required Experience:

• 5+ years of professional video editing experience.
• Strong experience editing for Meta (Facebook/Instagram) and TikTok.
• Proficiency with other short-form social platforms.
• Strong understanding of hooks and retention.
• Expertise in platform-native pacing and social-first storytelling.
• Experience with captions/subtitles and UGC-style editing.
• Familiarity with creative testing workflows.
• Experience working with performance marketing or direct-response creative is a plus.

Tools & Workflow:

• Required: Adobe Premiere Pro
• Nice to Have: Experience with AI-assisted creative workflows, ElevenLabs, Veo 3, generating AI video assets, and experimenting with emerging AI creative tools.

We will provide access to relevant AI video generation tools as needed.
