  • Develop scalable operating frameworks for onboarding, quality assurance, escalation management, and coverage planning to enhance consistency as the team and business grow.
  • Advance Brex's AI-native goals by identifying use cases, driving AI adoption, and partnering on tools that improve speed, quality, and control.
  • Collaborate with Compliance, Legal, Product, Engineering, and external banking partners to strengthen controls, resolve issues, and ensure operational readiness for new workflows and product changes.
  • Drive continuous improvement by identifying root causes, refining procedures, and advancing automation to increase throughput while maintaining control quality.
  • Translate frontline insights into actionable recommendations for leadership, highlighting trends, risks, and process gaps for the Banking Operations strategy.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in US banking operations, payments operations, compliance operations, or a related function within a bank, fintech, or regulated financial services environment.
  • 2+ years of people management experience, with a proven ability to coach employees, improve performance, and build strong, accountable teams.
  • Working knowledge of high-risk money movement workflows and payment rails (e.g., wires, ACH, checks, SWIFT) and transaction monitoring/exception management.
  • Practical fluency with AI tools (e.g., Claude, Hex, Granola, Glean) and a strong understanding of how AI can enhance team effectiveness, decision quality, and operational scale in a control-heavy environment.
  • Strong judgment, with the ability to assess risk, make sound escalation decisions, and maintain clear, audit-ready documentation.
  • Experience partnering cross-functionally with teams such as Compliance, Legal, Product, Engineering, Treasury, and Finance.
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills, capable of translating complex operational details into concise guidance and leadership updates.
  • A builder mindset with strong operational discipline, adept at improving workflows, strengthening procedures, and leveraging data or automation for scale and efficiency.
