About the Role

The Associate Director, Patient Services Operations will manage the day-to-day operations of the Mirum Access Plus (MAP) program, supporting Mirum’s product portfolio. You will work closely with the Director, Patient Services Operations, overseeing team activities, ensuring Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) are met or exceeded, anticipating and resolving operational challenges, monitoring program budgets, and ensuring compliance with all legal, regulatory, and pharmacovigilance requirements. You will also collaborate with brand teams and other internal functions including finance, legal, safety, and quality.

Job Functions/Responsibilities:

  • Team Leadership: Lead a team supporting specialty pharmacy access, reimbursement, and affordability activities. This includes managing day-to-day tasks, work queues, delegating assignments, developing team skills, establishing goals, and motivating the team. Ensure team goals align with organizational strategies.
  • Program Operations: Ensure smooth program operations in accordance with business rules and all safety, legal, and regulatory requirements. Collaborate with internal stakeholders and vendors to update business rules. Track and meet or exceed program KPIs, including call volumes and benefits investigation turnaround times.
  • Vendor Management: Serve as the liaison between Mirum and MAP service vendors. Proactively address program challenges and adapt business processes for improvement.
  • Reporting: Collaborate with Commercial Insights & Analytics (CIA) to ensure accurate and timely reporting of MAP data. Develop and distribute summary reports to key colleagues. Prepare ad hoc reports as needed.
  • Pharmacovigilance (PV): Partner with the PV vendor and Mirum's drug safety team to ensure timely reporting of adverse events (AEs) and product complaints. Serve as the point person for the Safety team for data requests and to coordinate audits of the MAP program.
  • Co-pay Program: Oversee co-pay program operations for Mirum products. Manage the co-pay card enrollment process through vendor integration. Develop and update co-pay program terms and conditions. Liaise with the co-pay program vendor, ensure timely reporting of key data, and meet program KPIs. Collaborate with the brand team to develop co-pay program offers.
  • Budgeting: Support the Director, Patient Services Operations in developing, maintaining, and meeting program budget requirements. Assist with forecasting and provide timely alerts regarding potential budget overages.
  • Patient Access Support (PAS)/Field Reimbursement Managers: Support the Senior Director, US Payer Account Lead in maintaining communication between the PAS team and the MAP team.
  • New Program Launches: Support the Director, Patient Services Operations on new program launches, assist with RFPs, and provide input for strategic planning and requirements for new MAP offerings.

Qualifications:

  • Education/Experience: BA/BS degree preferred. 7+ years of experience in the pharmaceutical/biotech industry, or experience with a Hub service provider or in-house hub.
  • Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Familiarity with pharmacy benefits.
  • Demonstrated depth in reimbursement support services and hubs.
  • Understanding of legal, regulatory, and safety requirements for hubs.
  • Familiarity with patient assistance programs.
  • Understanding of claims reimbursement coding.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally to achieve results.
  • Ability to advance and complete projects on time and within budget.
  • Ability to anticipate and address challenges for smooth hub service operations.
  • Strong problem-solving skills in a collaborative manner.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Strong business acumen.
