Data Analyst (Remote)

Company: Stio®
Location: Remote
Department: Finance
Reports to: Director of Data & Analytics
Salary Range: $85,000 - $100,000 annually

About Stio®:
Stio® is an omni-channel mountain brand dedicated to designing, developing, and selling high-quality apparel, footwear, and accessories inspired by the mountain lifestyle. Headquartered in Jackson, Wyoming, we operate through Stio.com, catalog, B2B, and our Mountain Studio® retail locations. We are committed stewards of the environment, partnering with organizations like Protect Our Winters and the Conservation Alliance, utilizing Bluesign® approved textiles, auditing supply chains, and operating responsibly. We champion inclusion and believe in enabling access to the outdoors for all.

Your Role:
As a key early member of Stio's Data & Analytics team, you will work closely with the Director of Data & Analytics to expand the business's data-driven decision-making capabilities. This full-stack, horizontal role encompasses data infrastructure (ingestion, modeling, transformation), analysis, BI development, and direct stakeholder partnerships across various departments including Finance, Merchandising, Marketing, Operations, Inventory Planning, and B2B. You will tackle high-leverage problems and contribute to the growth of the analytics function.

Our technology stack includes Snowflake, Fivetran, dbt, Power BI, GitHub, and increasingly Python alongside SQL and R. AI-assisted development is standard practice, with collaborative coding using AI agents like Claude Code, followed by rigorous review and testing. We seek individuals with strong data and modeling intuition, curiosity about evolving craft, and the ability to shape our working environment.

We are looking for an analyst who connects data insights to the bigger picture, with a strong bias for tying analysis to action. You should be proactive, willing to address immediate needs, question the status quo, and prioritize solving pressing business problems effectively.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Partner with stakeholders across Product Development, Marketing, DTC, B2B, Finance, Operations, and Inventory Planning to translate ambiguous questions into well-defined analyses, dashboards, and data products.
  • Build and maintain dbt models to transform raw data into trustworthy, well-documented datasets, including writing tests and documentation.
  • Develop and maintain semantic context, dashboards, and reports for daily business operations.
  • Own metric definitions and business semantics, driving alignment among stakeholders.
  • Review and harden AI-generated code (SQL, dbt models, Python), using data intuition to catch semantic errors.
  • Investigate ambiguous data questions by collaborating with source-system owners and improving our business model.
  • Contribute to building and maintaining our data infrastructure (Snowflake, Fivetran, dbt, GitHub, Power BI, R, Python) and influence future stack decisions.
  • Enhance data governance through useful documentation consumable by both humans and AI agents.
  • Continuously develop skills in the evolving field of data analytics.

Your Skills and Experience:

  • 3+ years of professional experience in data analysis, analytics engineering, or a similar role.
  • Advanced SQL skills (CTEs, window functions, handling messy data, query plan analysis).
  • Hands-on experience with dbt, including writing models, tests, and documentation.
  • Experience with cloud data warehouses (Snowflake, BigQuery, Databricks, Redshift, Microsoft Fabric, or similar).
  • Proficiency with version control using Git/GitHub.
  • Experience as a developer with at least one BI tool (Power BI, Tableau, Looker, Omni, or similar).
  • A clear perspective on AI-assisted development for analytics, including its strengths, weaknesses, and methods for ensuring trustworthy output.
  • Proven ability to build collaborative, trusting relationships with non-technical stakeholders.
  • Comfort presenting findings verbally, in writing, and visually.

Preferred Additional Skills and Experience:

  • Working knowledge of Python and/or R for analysis.
  • Experience with components of our data stack (Snowflake, Fivetran, dbt, GitHub, Power BI, Python, R, Claude Code, Codex).
  • Experience with systems such as NetSuite, Shopify, Google Analytics, Segment, Klaviyo.
  • Professional experience in DTC or omni-channel retail, apparel, footwear, or outdoor companies.
  • Experience working in a small or solo data team with end-to-end ownership.

Benefits:

  • Medical, Dental, Vision plans
  • Company-Paid Long Term Disability
  • Employee Assistance Programs
  • 401k with Match
  • Generous Paid Time Off policies
  • Gear testing and perks
