The Opportunity:

T-Rex Solutions is seeking an Automated Software Test Engineer to support the development of products using cutting-edge technologies for the General Services Administration (GSA) customer as part of the FLEET modernization effort. You will be an integral part of a passionate IT team, with tremendous opportunities to contribute to T-Rex’s growing portfolio. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and operating products on a Cloud platform for enterprise-wide use, including modern enterprise applications accessible and responsive via any device.

Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop System Test Automation Scripts using Selenium WebDriver, Jest, Cucumber, and API testing tools (e.g., RestAssured/Karate), including Selenium JavaScript APIs.
  • Support Test Automation Solution Planning and Estimation, analyzing current architecture and test platforms for growth and expansion.
  • Perform detailed test designs using sound software test engineering principles within test automation platforms and across distributed systems.
  • Collaborate to elaborate requirements for Acceptance Test Driven Development (ATDD) with BAs and developers.
  • Perform automated test implementation tasks, including reviewing acceptance criteria (Gherkin scripts), creating integration/regression test scenarios and test cases, implementing test data management strategies, and generating reports.
  • Improve existing test automation frameworks for speed, flexibility, and ease of use, utilizing parallel processing or grid systems.
  • Gather non-functional performance requirements, analyze, and strategize performance testing approaches.
  • Build performance testing frameworks for leverage by development and QA teams.
  • Conduct hands-on script development using JMeter, Gatling, or other open-source tools.
  • Measure system performance aspects, including throughput, response times, and resource utilization (CPU, memory, thread utilization, I/O statistics).
  • Work closely with Application Development and DevOps teams to identify, troubleshoot, and debug performance issues.

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Must be able to obtain a Federal Government Public Trust clearance.
  • 7+ years of full-lifecycle application development experience, with at least 3 years of experience using the specified technologies and the AWS cloud platform.
  • Post-secondary education in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field can substitute for years of experience (Associate's: 3 years, Bachelor's: 6 years, Master's: 9 years).
  • Minimum of 4 years demonstrated experience in one or more of the following toolsets/frameworks:
  • Selenium Grid/WebDriver
  • Selenium JavaScript APIs
  • Cucumber/Gherkin
  • jUnit, TestNG
  • API testing (RestAssured/Karate)
  • Experience in development using JavaScript (React.js, Node.js, modern JavaScript libraries - ES6+).
  • Experience working with databases, various data formats, and related testing technologies.
  • Experience in Agile and Scrum development methodologies.
  • Experience in testing UI/UX best practices and Section 508 compliance.
  • Knowledge of management tools such as JIRA Platform, Serena Business Manager.
  • Strong written and communication skills.

Desired Skills:

  • Demonstrated experience in one or more of the following toolsets/frameworks is desired:
  • Jest
  • Protractor/Jasmin
  • Github/Bitbucket
  • JMeter
  • Gatling

Compensation & Benefits:

  • Salary Range: $75,000 - $122,000 annually (base salary, subject to qualifications and experience).
