About the Role:
We are looking for a Manager, Engineering People & Operations to bring clarity, structure, and growth to our engineering organization. In FinDock's matrix structure, engineers are part of cross-functional product teams and craft-based Nexi. This role focuses on three key areas: supporting engineer growth and engagement, improving team collaboration and ownership, and structuring engineering operations.
You will ensure engineers grow and perform, help teams collaborate effectively, and own the operational processes that support engineering delivery. This role does not own delivery but ensures delivery can happen smoothly by strengthening the people, team, and operational layers of the organization. You will clarify ownership, align stakeholders, and drive progress in a complex, matrix environment.
Your Day-to-Day:
- Lead and Develop Engineers: Manage and support ~15-20 engineers, run 1:1s focused on growth and performance, hire and onboard new engineers, and drive development cycles.
- Strengthen Teams and Ways of Working: Coach teams on ownership, collaboration, and accountability; facilitate team improvement initiatives; identify cross-team patterns; and improve alignment between engineers, Tech Leads, and Product Managers.
- Own Engineering Operations: Establish and maintain operational processes, coordinate cross-team initiatives, manage operational topics (reporting, WBSO, budget checks), create visibility into engineering work, and structure management meetings.
- Act as Coordination and Escalation Point: Clarify ownership, align stakeholders, remove blockers, and ensure clear decision-making and communication.
