Our client is a globally operating yacht management company with a diverse, international workforce across multiple countries and maritime environments.

What are we looking for?

We are seeking an organized and proactive HR Generalist to support all aspects of Human Resources administration for our international client. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, highly organized, and capable of managing a diverse international workforce with strict confidentiality and professionalism. If you are independent, a great communicator, a problem solver, and have strong attention to detail, this role is a great fit.

This role offers a genuinely international HR experience, managing employees and crew across multiple countries, navigating maritime employment regulations, and supporting a workforce that operates at sea and on shore. It's a hands-on generalist role with significant breadth and complexity.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Employee Records & Regulatory Compliance: Maintain accurate personnel files per maritime/yachting regulations (MLC, flag state, visas, work permits, licenses, etc.). Monitor document expirations, coordinate renewals, and conduct audits. Support vessel audits.
  • Employment Contracts & Benefits: Prepare/issue contracts and amendments. Manage onboarding/offboarding. Administer benefits programs and act as the primary contact for inquiries. Coordinate with benefits providers.
  • Payroll Administration: Manage monthly payroll processing for yacht crew and employees in multiple countries, ensuring accuracy (salary changes, bonuses, leave, deductions). Coordinate with payroll providers and stakeholders. Maintain payroll records.
  • Employee Relations & Compliance: Serve as a resource for HR policies and employment matters. Assist in resolving employee concerns professionally. Ensure compliance with labor laws, maritime regulations, and company policies. Support employee engagement.
  • Performance Management & Disciplinary Actions: Assist managers with performance management and development. Prepare disciplinary documentation (warnings, PIPs). Support workplace investigations. Ensure consistent and compliant disciplinary actions.
  • Employee Separations: Manage resignations, contract completions, and terminations. Prepare termination documentation, coordinate final payroll/benefits. Conduct exit interviews.

What You'll Need:

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.
  • Minimum 3 years of Human Resources experience.
  • Strong understanding of employment law, HR best practices, and employee relations.
  • Experience managing payroll and employee records.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and HRIS platforms.

Nice to Have:

  • Experience in the maritime, yachting, hospitality, or luxury services industry.
  • Knowledge of MLC requirements and maritime employment regulations.
  • Experience managing international payroll and multi-country employment.

Location:

This position is open exclusively to candidates based in the Dominican Republic. Fully remote.
