Zowie is looking for an energetic **DevOps/Platform Engineer** who enjoys building usable and reliable platform capabilities—from understanding the root cause of a problem, through design and implementation, to long-term ownership in production. ### What Makes Platform Challenges Interesting at Zowie * **Enterprise Readiness:** Secure access patterns, auditability, and compliance are becoming first-class requirements. * **Multi-Cloud Reality:** AWS is currently the primary environment, with GCP playing an increasingly significant role. * **Mission-Critical Workloads:** The platform operates on the front line of customers’ businesses, emphasizing reliability, clarity, and operational ownership. * **Developer Enablement at Scale:** As the organization grows, platform decisions increasingly impact developer velocity, with a core mission to empower their success. * **Technological Variety:** To support the Product team's needs, the infrastructure incorporates a wide array of technologies, including MongoDB, Postgres, ElasticSearch, Cassandra, and Redis. * **Voice Technologies:** As the AI Agent supports phone calls, you will have the opportunity to work with reliable and scalable SIP infrastructure. ### This Role Might Be For You If You: * Want to have a real influence on the evolution of an entire platform. * Enjoy owning initiatives end-to-end, rather than just implementing predefined tasks. * Are curious to understand your stakeholders, then design pragmatic solutions that account for the impact of your decisions. * Like working at the boundary between infrastructure, application architecture, and developer experience. ### What You'll Do (Key Responsibilities) * Work with AWS and GCP infrastructure (Infrastructure as Code, networking, compute, IAM, secrets), secure access, and authorization mechanisms (DB authentication, IAM flows, audit). * Communicate with various stakeholders to understand diverse infrastructure-related challenges, provide solution plans, and ensure the success of the initiatives you own. * Collaborate closely with developers to understand their workflows, pain points, and constraints, ensuring platform decisions enhance developer experience. ### Ideally, You'll Bring With You (Requirements) * 2+ years in DevOps / SRE / Platform Engineering roles. * Experience with GCP or AWS (IAM, networking, compute, storage, common managed services). * Experience with Infrastructure as Code in a multi-datacenter/multi-cloud deployment setup. * Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a pragmatic, can-do attitude. * High degree of ownership and a desire to drive projects from start to finish. * Good familiarity with CI/CD processes and approaches. ### It Will Be Awesome If You Also Have (Preferred Qualifications) * Experience with visualization tools like Kibana, Grafana, Prometheus. * Experience with storage technologies like MongoDB, Postgres, Cassandra, Redis, Elasticsearch. * Experience managing AWS costs, running backup recovery operations. * Experience with SaaS/enterprise customers (security reviews, compliance expectations). ### AI-Native Culture Zowie's team embraces AI as a fundamental part of their work, utilizing it not just for speed, but for creativity, documentation, and scale.
