Mindrift connects specialists with project-based AI opportunities for leading tech companies. As an Expert Author, you will design computational engineering problems to challenge a frontier AI model. These problems must have a code-verifiable answer and require specialized tools like OpenSeesPy, CalculiX, YADE, or bempp-cl. This is a project-based freelance opportunity, not permanent employment.

🧩 What This Opportunity Involves:

• Problem Design: Design problems that hinge on specialized civil engineering solvers, simulation kernels, or domain-specific models.
• Reference Solution: Write a Python reference solution, supply input files, and define geometry.
• Verification: Define numerical answers and set appropriate tolerances for AI model verification.
• Tuning: Test problems against AI models in parallel runs, tuning difficulty for a 10-30% success rate.
• Feedback Loop: Learn how AI agents navigate complex problems, gaining deeper command of engineering tools and AI behavior.
• Quality Assurance: Problems are reviewed by senior experts in the field.

💡 What We Look For:

• Experience: 2+ years of research, applied, or teaching experience in Civil Engineering or a related field.
• Programming: Python proficiency for writing reference solutions.
• Tools: Fluency with, or strong willingness to learn, scriptable civil engineering packages (OpenSeesPy, CalculiX, YADE, bempp-cl, or similar).
• Problem Solving: Ability to design problems that genuinely require specialized solvers.
• Language: Strong written English (C1+).
• Flexibility: Open to part-time, non-permanent projects.
