QA Engineer (m/f/d) - First Experience

Yalwa is looking for a dedicated QA Engineer to join our team! We are passionate about making the digital world a place where people build real-life connections. This role is perfect for someone with a foundational understanding of QA methodologies and a strong desire to excel in test automation.

Your Tasks:

• End-to-End Testing: Design, execute, and maintain manual and automated test cases for web applications and native mobile apps (iOS & Android).
• Test Automation: Create and optimize test automation scripts using Playwright (JS), maintain existing scripts, and utilize AI tools to accelerate automation workflows.
• Full-Spectrum Validation: Perform functional, smoke, sanity, integration, localization, and regression testing across complex features.
• Shift-Left Approach: Work closely with developers, product managers, designers, and DevOps teams to identify issues early in the development lifecycle.
• Defect Lifecycle Management: Investigate, document, and track bugs, providing clear feedback and coordinating bug fixes.
• Environment Verification: Ensure platform quality across different environments prior to production launch.
• Cross-Department Syncing: Collaborate with Product, Marketing, Sales, and Customer Support teams to safeguard release quality.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
• Experience in software quality assurance and testing.
• Strong knowledge of software quality assurance methodologies and the STLC.
• Experience with mobile application testing on iOS and Android platforms.
• Familiarity with creating and executing Playwright automation scripts using JavaScript (or similar).
• Experience with version control systems using Git and GitHub workflows.
• Basic knowledge of SQL for performing direct database queries.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and cross-functional communication skills.
• Fluency in English.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines.
• Familiarity with API and performance testing.
• Exposure to AI-driven QA tools, test generation, or intelligent automation platforms.
