Pathology Support Coordinator - Sample Review- (ASCP Certified)- TEMP Position Tues-Saturday (2nd Shift)

Primary Responsibilities

• Review cases for accuracy and completeness of pathology tissue samples for Signatera and Altera testing, utilizing LIMS and other information sources.
• Interpret pathology reports, clinical notes, and additional testing reports to complete light data entry for each tissue sample.
• Collaborate with team members to resolve potential discrepancies.
• Place necessary notes and holds on cases for non-conforming samples, discrepancies, or missing information, escalating as needed for timely resolution.
• Confirm cancer types for the reporting team before report issuance via emails and spreadsheets.
• Meet daily case metrics.
• Attend interdepartmental meetings.
• Provide feedback on current processes or workflows.
• Review and understand all Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
• Handle Protected Health Information (PHI) in both paper and electronic forms, completing required HIPAA/PHI privacy training.

Qualifications

• BS/BA degree preferred; High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• 2+ years of experience in the medical industry, with pathology experience being a plus.
• Previous data entry experience is required.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• High accuracy and efficiency in quality control of all product types.
• Ability to handle most escalations, discrepancies, and holds.
• Firm understanding of the Sample Review process and SOPs.
• Typing speed of at least 45 WPM with high accuracy.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Excellent critical thinking skills and sound judgment.
• High degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
• Positive attitude and ability to work well with others.
