About the Team
The Government Affairs and Public Affairs team represents Stripe to governments, regulators, industry partners, and broader stakeholder audiences. We help the company navigate a changing global policy environment, anticipate challenges, and advocate for users and the online economy. The team collaborates closely with Policy Development, Legal, Communications, Marketing, and regional product and go-to-market teams for coordinated global engagement.
Responsibilities
- Support the development and execution of global public affairs strategies to advance Stripe’s policy and business objectives.
- Coordinate with regional Government Affairs, Policy Development, Communications, and Marketing leads to adapt global narratives for local markets and provide data to support advocacy efforts.
- Execute external engagement activities, including outreach to policymakers, industry groups, and partner organizations, under senior direction.
- Draft and maintain clear messaging, briefing materials, talking points, and collateral for internal and external audiences.
- Support the management of stakeholder relationships (e.g., trade associations, think tanks, NGOs, partner companies) and maintain stakeholder tracking.
- Help organize events and convenings that foster policy conversations among Stripe leaders, users, and partners.
- Support measurement and reporting of global public affairs activities and contribute to team processes and project management.
Minimum Requirements
- Minimum 3+ years of experience in public policy, public affairs, government relations, communications, advocacy, or related fields.
- Demonstrated experience executing political or advocacy campaigns, building coalitions, coordinating stakeholders, and managing events.
- Strong written and verbal English communication skills, including experience producing clear briefings and short-form messaging.
- Interest in and basic understanding of policy, government affairs, and the tech or payments ecosystem.
- Comfortable working with cross-functional partners in an international environment.
- Proven collaborator who is resourceful, detail-oriented, and able to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Willingness to travel 25% for meetings and events.
Preferred Qualifications
- Professional experience and existing relationships within the US and European policy ecosystem.
- Experience supporting global or multi-jurisdictional public affairs work, including adapting and deploying global messaging and playbooks for local audiences.
- Background or advocacy in technology, financial services, or related sectors.
- Language skills beyond English are a plus.
Working Remotely at Stripe
A remote location is defined as being 35 miles (56 kilometers) or more from one of our offices. While you would be welcome to come into the office for team/business meetings, on-sites, meet-ups, and events, our expectation is you would regularly work from home rather than a Stripe office. Stripe does not cover the cost of relocating to a remote location. We encourage you to apply for roles that match the location where you currently live or plan to live.
Pay and Benefits
The annual salary range for this role in the primary location is €102,100 - €153,100. This range may change if you are hired in another location. For sales roles, the range provided is the role’s On Target Earnings (“OTE”) range. Specific benefits and details about compensation will vary depending on the applicant’s location and can be discussed during the interview process. Benefits/additional compensation may include: equity, company bonus or sales commissions/bonuses; retirement plans; health benefits; and wellness stipends.
