The Machine Learning Platform team at Reddit is a high-impact group responsible for the infrastructure powering recommendations, content discovery, and user/content quantification, directly influencing teams like Growth, Ads, Feeds, and Core Machine Learning.

What You'll Do

As a Senior Software Engineer, you will lead the development of a large-scale GenAI Platform at Reddit. Your responsibilities include:

• LLM Gateway Development: Contribute to the design, implementation, and maintenance of the LLM Gateway, focusing on features like unified API endpoints, rate/token limit management, and intelligent failover mechanisms.
• ML & GenAI Systems: Design and develop ML and Generative AI systems within scalable, cloud-based production environments.
• RAG Application Development: Build and manage enterprise-grade RAG (Retrieval-Augmented Generation) applications using embeddings, vector search, and retrieval pipelines.
• Agentic AI Workflows: Implement and operationalize agentic AI workflows with tool use, leveraging frameworks like LangChain and LangGraph.
• MLOps/LLMOps Adoption: Drive the adoption of MLOps/LLMOps best practices, including CI/CD automation, versioning, testing, and lifecycle management.
• Observability & Governance: Establish best practices for observability, monitoring, evaluation, and governance of GenAI pipelines in production.
• Ownership & Platform Thinking: Demonstrate a strong ownership mindset and contribute to platform-level thinking.
• End-to-End Delivery: Lead AI platform delivery from concept to production.

Who You Might Be

• 5+ years of experience in ML Engineering, AI Platform Engineering, or Cloud AI Deployment roles.
• Experience operating orchestration systems like Kubernetes at scale.
• Deep experience with cloud-based technologies for ML platforms (e.g., AWS, Google Cloud Storage, Terraform).
• Proficiency in common ML programming languages and frameworks (e.g., Go, Python).
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain technical AI concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
• Strong focus on scalability, reliability, performance, and ease of use. You are a dedicated advocate for platform users and possess a deep intuition for the GenAI product development lifecycle.
• Plus: Strong knowledge of model serving, inference pipelines, monitoring, and observability for AI systems.
• Plus: Strong proficiency in Python and experience with modern AI/ML frameworks (e.g., LangChain, Vertex AI Agent Builder, TensorFlow, PyTorch).

Pay Transparency

• Base Salary Range: $190,800 - $267,100 USD annually.
• Note: This range is for base salary only and does not include potential equity (RSUs) or commission. Final offers are determined by factors such as skills, experience, and location.
