Privacy Business Analyst / Project Manager

Claritev is seeking an innovative professional to join our dynamic team as a Privacy Business Analyst / Project Manager. This role is essential for investigating privacy inadvertent disclosures and breaches, ensuring compliance with all applicable policies, procedures, and regulations. You will coordinate with Talent and management to ensure adherence to the Privacy Corrective Action policy and maintain the company's compliance with reporting obligations under federal, state, and global regulations. This position requires a blend of Business Analyst (BA) and Project Manager (PM) skills to manage regulatory matters effectively.

Job Summary

This position is responsible for investigating all privacy inadvertent disclosures and breaches across the organization in a timely manner, complying with applicable policies, procedures, and regulations. You will coordinate with Talent and managers/supervisors to ensure compliance with the Privacy Corrective Action policy. Additionally, you will ensure the company remains compliant with potential reporting obligations under federal, state, and global rules and regulations. You will prepare all documentation on privacy breaches and provide quarterly reporting for leadership. This role functions as both a Business Analyst, applying best practices to requirements for regulatory filings, and a Project Manager, coordinating efforts across operational areas and client compliance departments.

Job Roles and Responsibilities

Under the supervision and direction of the Chief Privacy Officer:

  • Actively investigate all privacy matters across the organization.
  • Provide guidance, advice, and education to business leads and employees regarding privacy issues in compliance with federal, state, and global privacy laws, including HIPAA.
  • Monitor, address, and respond to internal and external reported privacy violations and inadvertent disclosures received via various channels.
  • Advise business leads on corrective actions for privacy violations and inadvertent disclosures, ensuring appropriate documentation and written correspondence are completed and maintained.
  • Collaborate with Talent concerning corrective actions for privacy violations.
  • Compile documentation, perform data entry, and analyze privacy matters, preparing quarterly reports and data for leadership.
  • Maintain primary responsibility for initiating, planning, executing, controlling, and closing all regulatory compliance filing activities, including developing project plans and timetables.
  • Identify, calculate, mitigate, and monitor risk, creating contingency plans and advising management as appropriate.
  • Develop work plans for each regulatory filing and prepare executive summaries for management review.
  • Solicit, analyze, and document regulatory filing requirements, ensuring project teams develop solutions that meet these needs and establishing agreement between business units and project teams on deliverables.
  • Track and resolve issues by proposing viable solutions.
  • Manage multiple priorities, customer expectations, and relationships with all stakeholders, including customers, project managers, and management at all levels.
  • Collaborate, coordinate, and communicate across disciplines and departments.
  • Ensure compliance with state and federal laws relating to securities, healthcare, data privacy and security (including HIPAA), and government programs.
  • Demonstrate commitment to the Company’s core values.
  • Please note: Due to exposure to PHI sensitive data, this role is considered High Risk.

Job Scope

This individual works under supervision with a moderate amount of discretion to make decisions affecting day-to-day operations. The candidate must be able to work with minimal supervision, following established procedures and using knowledge of the Company’s general business principles. Decision-making requires sound logic, problem resolution, weighing pros/cons, and timely suggestions.

Salary

The salary range for this position is $75,000 - $95,000 annually. Specific offers depend on education, experience, skills, work location, and internal equity. This position is also eligible for health insurance, 401k, and bonus opportunities.

Qualifications

  • Minimum Bachelor’s degree; paralegal preferred.
  • Knowledge of the Healthcare industry with a background in privacy preferred.
  • Minimum two (2) years’ experience as a BA and/or PM; BA and healthcare industry experience preferred.
  • Knowledge and experience designing and implementing best practices in project management methodologies and requirements definition/management.
  • International Institute of Business Analysis (IIBA)/Certified Business Analysis Professional (CBAP) preferred.
  • Required licensures, professional certifications, and/or Board certifications as applicable.
  • Expert-level business and system analysis skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, interpersonal, prioritization, multi-tasking, initiating, communication, planning, and technical skills.
  • Proficient in Excel, PowerPoint, and platforms for privacy and compliance.
  • Ability to take initiative and suggest solutions to problems.
  • Ability to use software and peripherals related to job responsibilities.
  • Ability to facilitate teams and client relationships to satisfy needs and identify improvements.
  • Ability to develop strong relationships with all levels of management.
  • Commitment to excellent customer service and follow-through.
  • Ability to manage multiple simultaneous projects, continuously evaluating and re-ordering priorities.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from internal and external customers.
