About the Role

As an Account Executive at Instrumentl, you will be the primary point of contact for prospective customers, delivering 1:1 concierge onboarding and consultative sales experiences. You'll engage with Executive Directors, Development Directors, Grants Managers, and professional grant writing consultants, conveying warmth, kindness, and competence. Your role is crucial in helping these organizations leverage Instrumentl to achieve their fundraising goals faster. This position requires a "hunter" mentality, owning a book of accounts, and managing a mix of inbound and outbound opportunities from initial contact through closing.

What You'll Do

Pipeline & Closing:

  • Become an expert in grants and institutional fundraising to conduct valuable prospect conversations.
  • Proactively generate pipeline through creative, personalized outbound tactics within your assigned book of business.
  • Manage both high-velocity and longer sales cycles with precision and warmth, from initial contact to close.
  • Ensure prompt follow-up and responsiveness to prospect inquiries.
  • Experiment with new onboarding flows and sales pitches to drive growth.

Customer Experience & Feedback:

  • Deliver exceptional, concierge-level onboarding experiences to enhance customers' fundraising workflows and foster brand loyalty.
  • Provide valuable product and design input regarding the first-time user experience.
  • Surface insights from customer conversations to refine positioning and sales pitches.

What We're Looking For

Required:

  • 2-4 years of closing experience in a high-velocity, customer-facing SaaS role or similar environment.
  • Empathy: A strong drive to solve customers' underlying problems, including those not explicitly stated.
  • Curiosity: A desire to deeply understand customer challenges to provide optimal solutions.
  • Grit: Willingness to work hard, embrace coaching, and enjoy the journey of mastering the role.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Drive: Proactive approach to taking control of success and building upon existing processes.
  • Comfortable using tools like G Suite, Zoom, Slack, and CRM platforms.

Nice to Have:

  • Experience selling into the nonprofit market.
  • Background in fundraising or nonprofit operations.
  • Startup or remote work experience.
