About the Role
As a Financial Controller, you will serve as a central interface between the finance department, operational units, and management. You will play a vital role in the economic management of the fleet, providing analyses and recommendations that form the basis for important business decisions and contribute to the company's development.
Your Responsibilities:
- Assist in the planning and budgeting of the annual operating costs for the ships.
- Prepare decision memos, analyses, and reports for management.
- Continuously monitor the fleet's operating costs in collaboration with the technical inspection and crewing departments.
- Generate ongoing monthly and quarterly reports.
- Act as a sparring partner for management and operational departments on commercial issues, projects, and special tasks.
- Communicate with clients/partners on business administration matters and explain reports.
Your Qualifications:
- Completed degree in Business Administration, Controlling, Finance, or a comparable qualification.
- Ideally, training as a Shipping Clerk and/or initial professional experience in Finance & Controlling.
- Strong numerical understanding and analytical thinking skills.
- Proficient in MS Office applications and ideally experienced with ERP and BI systems.
- Structured, independent, and solution-oriented work approach.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to present complex issues clearly.
- Good German and English language skills (written and spoken).
- Interest in the shipping and maritime industry.
