Financial Controller - Remote

Conexwest is seeking a seasoned Financial Controller to oversee all accounting and financial operations for our expanding container logistics business. This pivotal role is responsible for ensuring robust financial reporting, strategic budgeting, efficient cash flow management, strict compliance, and delivering crucial financial insights to fuel our growth trajectory.

About the Role

As the Financial Controller, you will be instrumental in guiding the financial health and strategic direction of Conexwest. This remote position offers the chance to make a significant impact on a growing company in the vital container logistics sector.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee daily accounting operations, including Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), payroll, and general ledger management.
• Prepare accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
• Manage budgeting, forecasting processes, and proactive cash flow planning.
• Ensure strict compliance with U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), tax regulations, and internal control frameworks.
• Analyze financial performance trends and provide actionable recommendations to senior management.
• Monitor operational costs, profitability margins, and key financial performance indicators (KPIs).
• Coordinate external audits and collaborate effectively with external accountants and financial institutions.
• Support executive leadership with comprehensive financial planning and strategic decision-making.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a closely related field.
• A minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting or financial management.
• Prior experience in transportation, logistics, trucking, or container operations is highly preferred.
• In-depth knowledge of U.S. GAAP, financial reporting standards, and budgeting principles.
• Proficiency with accounting software and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems.
• Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and financial analysis techniques.
• A Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation is considered a significant advantage.
