Job Description

Reporting to the Director, Nexus, Client Delivery, your responsibilities will encompass the full range of fund accounting and administration services for private equity clients.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide comprehensive fund accounting and administration services to private equity clients, including NAV preparation and review, custody servicing, investor record-keeping, and reporting.
  • Manage a team of Fund Accountants, overseeing service delivery and training staff on all aspects of the NAV process.
  • Liaise with banks, auditors, brokers, and custodians to ensure smooth service delivery and accurate NAV completion.
  • Review and approve fee schedules, including management and carried interest calculations, ensuring adherence to fund documents.
  • Review and approve investor allocations, waterfall calculations, custody trading documents, subscription processing, and capital call/distribution wires, ensuring timely and accurate execution.
  • Collaborate with the internal AML team and administrators to ensure all AML requirements are met.
  • Respond to all client queries promptly and effectively.
  • Review and sign off on schedules, reports, and files for review, ensuring compliance with organizational controls.
  • Allocate resources effectively to meet all work requirements and Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
  • Approve fund expense payments in applicable banking systems, ensuring adherence to controls.
  • Assist in the preparation and review of audited financial statements and annual audits.
  • Review reporting for regulatory authorities.
  • Establish and maintain fund/client-specific procedures, ensuring cross-training and service coverage.
  • Contribute to the growth of the local office.
  • Generate ideas for NAV process improvements, technological enhancements, and client reporting optimization.
  • Participate in multiple system initiatives and projects.

Qualifications:

  • Post-secondary education/University Degree with a concentration in finance or accounting.
  • 10+ years of experience in the fund administration industry, with at least 6 years in a Private Equity role and proven staff management experience. Experience can include other administrators, investment managers, or fund auditors.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel.
  • In-depth understanding of the Private Equity fund administration industry, including various fund structures, waterfall fee calculation types, and Limited Partnership Agreement reviews.
  • 5+ years of experience with fund accounting software; Investran experience is considered an asset.
