About the Role

Fivetran is seeking a talented Sales Engineering Specialist - Security to join our global sales engineering specialist team. You will collaborate closely with our sales and field sales engineering teams to address customer security needs. Your responsibilities will include providing timely responses to security questionnaires, participating in customer-facing infosec calls, and working with our internal SRE and Product teams to ensure Fivetran's platform security. This is a full-time, remote position based in Ireland.

Technologies You’ll Use

• Fivetran's data integration platform, deployment methods, and security features
• Cloud computing platforms: AWS, Azure, Google Cloud Platform
• Security technologies: Firewalls, intrusion detection systems, data loss prevention systems, encryption
• Containerization and orchestration: Kubernetes, Docker; familiarity with hybrid and self-hosted deployments
• Security and Data Privacy Compliance frameworks: SOC 2, ISO 27001, PCI, HIPAA, HITRUST, GDPR

What You’ll Do

• Support sales and field sales engineering teams with deep technical knowledge of Fivetran’s internal security operations, platform features, and the security domain.
• Deliver timely and accurate responses to prospect and customer security questionnaires using internal tooling.
• Collaborate with Legal and AppSec to maintain internal libraries for security questionnaires.
• Lead documentation and internal enablement efforts to scale specialist knowledge across the department.
• Work closely with Fivetran’s Product and Engineering teams to align solutions with customer needs.
• Engage directly with prospects and customers on security architecture reviews and compliance discussions, taking on increasing ownership over time.
• Stay current with the latest technologies and trends in the security domain.

Skills We’re Looking For

• 3+ years in a security administrator, backend engineer, field CISO, or IT services role within an enterprise or complex environment.
• Extensive expertise in modern cloud and on-premise network architectures, connectivity mechanisms (SSH, Reverse SSH, VPN, PrivateLink), and data security.
• Ability to effectively communicate Fivetran’s detailed security posture and influence security audiences at all levels.
• Passion for data, security, and analytics, with a philosophy of using technology to solve business problems. Experience with generative AI to accelerate workflows is a plus.
• Experience with trust center management platforms and security questionnaire automation software.
• Curiosity to learn and assimilate technical information quickly, with enthusiasm for sharing knowledge.
• Familiarity with programming languages such as Java, SQL, and Python is a bonus.
