Role Overview

Deepgram is seeking a Senior Technical Recruiter to lead full-cycle recruitment for complex, high-impact engineering roles across customer-facing and core platform teams. You will be instrumental in scaling the company by building pipelines for AI-native technical talent globally, navigating diverse market dynamics, and ensuring compliant, scalable hiring practices. This role demands fluency in AI product development, strong judgment on technical aptitude, and a strategic, systems-level view of recruiting across international markets.

What You'll Do

  • Own full-cycle recruiting for senior and hard-to-fill technical roles within Research, Engineering, and Product teams.
  • Lead global recruiting efforts across multiple regions (e.g., US, EMEA, APAC), including sourcing, interviewing, and closing candidates.
  • Partner with hiring managers to define role scope, leveling, and interview plans, considering business needs and regional talent realities.
  • Develop proactive sourcing strategies for niche and senior-level technical talent globally.
  • Evaluate candidates for technical depth, impact, and alignment with Deepgram’s values across diverse cultural and regional contexts.
  • Deliver a high-quality candidate experience across time zones through clear communication, thoughtful process design, and operational rigor.
  • Utilize data and funnel metrics to identify issues, improve signal quality, and increase global hiring velocity.
  • Collaborate with People Ops, Legal, and Finance to support compliant global hiring, including employment models, offers, and regional considerations.
  • Contribute to evolving recruiting infrastructure, tools, and interview practices to support international scale.

What You Bring

  • Hands-on experience leading global expansion efforts, including hiring across multiple countries or regions.
  • Experience recruiting for at least two of the following domains: Customer Engineering / Solutions Engineering, Backend / Platform Infrastructure, Product Engineering, or Developer-facing roles.
  • Strong technical literacy: understanding of modern software systems, APIs, and customer-integrated technical products is essential; you don't need to code, but must comprehend how they are built.
  • Proven ability to source and close senior-level and highly specialized technical talent in competitive, international markets, particularly for roles at the intersection of technical depth and customer impact.
  • Comfort operating in ambiguity and helping teams define clear expectations for technical roles across different regions and customer segments.
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills with the confidence to push back when necessary, balancing speed-to-hire with bar integrity for critical roles.
  • A builder's mindset focused on process quality, signal, and long-term scalability.

Nice to Have

  • Experience recruiting for AI-native, AI-first, or applied AI companies.
  • Deep familiarity with AI/ML systems, LLMs, real-time inference, or data-intensive infrastructure, sufficient for credible conversations with engineers.
  • Experience supporting distributed, remote-first teams building AI products across time zones and geographies.
