Staff Product Designer

What You Will Be Working On

As a Staff Product Designer, you will master the art of simplifying complexity.

You will be responsible for leading the design of our platform, ensuring every interaction is intuitive, every screen is elegant, and every feature is a pleasure to use. You will play a pivotal role in defining the product's direction, collaborating closely with leadership and our product and engineering teams to bring your designs to fruition.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design process from ideation to execution, encompassing user research, wireframing, prototyping, visual design, and interaction design.
• Develop and maintain a cohesive design language and style guide that embodies our brand and product vision.
• Leverage data, user feedback, and research to continuously refine the user journey.
• Drive the overall design vision for the product, ensuring alignment with the company's long-term strategy and core values.
• Inspire the team with innovative concepts and a commitment to creating a memorable and beloved product experience.

Requirements

Hospitable.com is a remote-only and distributed company. Location is not a prerequisite for this position. Ideal candidates will operate within European or American (up to East Coast) time zones.

What we are looking for:

• Leadership: Demonstrated ability to lead design projects and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
• Experience: Extensive, world-class experience in UI/UX design for SaaS products, evidenced by a strong portfolio showcasing your ability to craft delightful, intuitive, and fluid user experiences. Specific years of experience are less critical than the depth of your expertise.
• Skills: Mastery of design tools; we primarily use Whimsical for mockups and Figma for designs.
• Creativity: A capacity for innovative thinking and pushing design boundaries to create truly differentiated products.
• Communication: Excellent communication skills, with the ability to articulate design concepts and decisions clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Passion: A profound passion for design, meticulous attention to detail, and a deep understanding of what constitutes an exceptional product.
• Attention to detail, including remembering that Bobby's favorite ice cream flavor is Salted Butter Caramel.
• Preference for candidates who are short-term rental/Airbnb hosts or have experience in the short-term rental business.
• All other relevant experiences are considered a valuable bonus.

• Total Cash Budget: USD $148,000.00 (Senior I) to $206,800.00 (Staff I), varying by seniority and cost of living. We hire internationally as contractors or employees (US, EU, Australia), with gross compensation adjusted for payroll taxes. For US employees, the gross salary range is $136,551.16 to $190,802.56.
• Company Equity: Compensation includes company equity through our $HOST Token (RSUs), with a grant value up to $75,200, allowing participation in the company's long-term growth.
• Performance Share Units (PSUs): This role is eligible for up to an additional $459,816.00 annually in PSUs, granted upon achieving clearly defined business performance targets, directly aligning compensation with measurable company impact.
