As a member of the Information Excellence team within AFRY, you will engage in diverse and challenging projects that drive real impact. Through our Design Center, you will collaborate with highly skilled professionals in Sweden, leverage cutting-edge technology, and play a pivotal role in delivering innovative solutions for our clients. About the team in Sweden
Our Malmö office in Sweden hosts a dedicated team of approximately 10 BIM Specialists within the Advisory unit. They focus on cost management, sustainable building strategies, and early-stage energy and design analysis to support informed decision-making throughout the project lifecycle. Our team manages around 20 ongoing projects of varying scales, with engineers typically handling 2-5 projects concurrently. The design phase follows standard stages: Pre-design, Conceptual design, Detail design, and As-Built drawings, across a wide range of building types including hospitals, offices, schools, and data centers.

Your key responsibilities:

In Revit (Core Competence)

  • Create, develop, and maintain BIM models using Revit.
  • Support the creation and management of families, templates, and project standards.
  • Ensure models are well-structured, coordinated, and aligned with project requirements.

In Point Cloud & Digital Engineering Support (scan-to-BIM)

  • Assist in converting point cloud data into accurate, BIM-ready models.
  • Support digital engineering workflows by integrating scanned data into design and coordination processes.
  • Help ensure data quality and alignment between existing conditions and design models.
  • Utilize expertise in point cloud management software, including Autodesk ReCap and Navisworks.

In BIM Coordination & Quality Assurance

  • Contribute to model coordination across disciplines and support clash detection activities.
  • Review models to identify inconsistencies, missing information, or deviations from standards.
  • Engage in scripting and automated model checking.
  • Support the implementation and documentation of BIM standards, naming conventions, and classification systems.

In Continuous Improvement

  • Contribute to improving workflows, templates, and digital tools within the BIM environment.
  • Stay up-to-date with BIM tools, technologies, and best practices.

Qualifications

Must have:

  • A degree in Building Engineering, Civil Engineering, or Architecture.
  • 2–5 years of relevant experience in 3D modeling or previous experience as a BIM Specialist.
  • Good written and spoken English (minimum CEFR level B1).
  • Hands-on experience from at least three large Revit design projects.
  • Solid working knowledge of MS Office applications.
  • A proactive approach, ability to make decisions, and a strong sense of quality.

Good to have:

  • Experience working abroad, especially on projects in the Nordics.
  • Knowledge of the Swedish building industry and building standards.
  • Knowledge of FME.
  • Good knowledge of the Swedish language.
  • Skills in AutoCAD and NavisWorks/Solibri.
